I cant believe how many folks claim to be from Microsoft 'monitoring your PC'. Its total nonsense. Never let anyone take over your computer unless you’re 100% sure who they are. Some muppet called me and even mentioned a person who lived at my address like 15 years back!! Ridiculous.

Got a call from someone claiming to be with Microsoft tech support saying my computer was being hacked while I was using it. They told me to open the Run box and type in CMD, then asked me to enter a command that sounded like “netscat.” Don’t trust these people, they try to scare you by showing normal things that just look technical but are nothing suspicious. The best thing is to just say “Hi, I’m (name) from Microsoft tech” and then hang up straight away. If you can, block or report the number too.

Picking up from my last message, I did a bit more research and realised the guy wanted me to put "NETCAT" into the command prompt, not "NETSCAT" as I first thought. Turns out, that tool basically opens up your network ports and gives them complete access to your computer... Just thought I'd share in case it helps anyone else.

Some guy called me, said he was Mark Taylor from a company called Best Help. He told me my computer was going to crash and offered to fix it if I let him access it. He even gave me a number to call back on, 0808234239. Sounded dodgy to me!

I received a call suggesting that others were accessing my computer and claiming I could resolve it myself simply by powering it on. Honestly, who in their right mind offers free repairs? It’s likely they’re chasing cash or fishing for personal details, so I ended the call within the first sixty seconds.

Watch out, I got a call from someone with an Indian accent claiming my computer was on and hackers were targeting me. He asked me to check the control key on my keyboard and tell him which key was beside it. I played along for a bit, even though my PC was miles away and completely off. Realising it was just another scam trying a different tactic, I ended up hanging up.
