Got two more numbers to watch out for: 001441818396946 and 00144209010801. Both are scams linked to BT, and I've reported them to BT and Action Fraud already. They claim hackers have been detected using your internet connection to access your PC. Their trick is trying to get you to install TEAM VIEWER FOR WINDOWS and asking about GOOGLE PLAY CARDS, plus they quiz you about your bank and credit card details. Be careful!

My 91-year-old grandma has been getting calls nonstop from this number. She’s meant to be on the TPS list, so I’m not sure why they keep ringing her. When either of us pick up, there’s just silence, and then they cut off the call.

If you’re not up for wasting a bit of time messing about with these dodgy scammers, best just to put the phone down. They tried telling me my internet was out or something daft like that. Honestly, it’s frustrating that the laws aren’t tougher and they don’t properly crack down on these jokers. Would be great if they actually got done for it properly.

This number kept popping up the last few days, but since I didn’t recognise it, I ignored the calls figuring it was some kind of scam. I looked it up and saw it’s from the US and yep, definitely a scam. What’s the use of being on the TPS list when these scammers still bother calling anyway!

This number keeps ringing me at all sorts of times lately, sometimes early morning, other times afternoon or even late in the evening. Makes me wonder if they’re aiming at older folks? Not sure how they got hold of that info though. Every time I answer, I just tell them to jog on. I’m definitely on the TPS list.

Got a call where a person with a typical Indian accent just said, "Hello" and then ended it. You can hear loads of chatter in the background which definitely sounds like a call centre. Classic scam attempt, I reckon.

Sounds like these people are up to no good. They try to trick you into giving them control of your computer, but only if you let them in. I just told this bloke, called John but he had an accent that didn’t sound quite right, that I don’t own any computer or smartphone. After that he just said thanks and ended the call. Fingers crossed they’ll stop calling me now!

Today, 16/11/17, I had a call from this number on my brand new BT XD landline, but I didn’t pick up. They didn’t leave any voicemail either. When I tried ringing back, it said the number couldn’t be reached. After looking into it, I found out it’s a scam from the Philippines! Definitely avoid picking up. If you do end up answering, maybe try blowing a referee’s whistle straight into the phone for a bit! Still scratching my head how these scammers managed to get hold of my new BT XD number so quickly - maybe through EE? From MT in Shropshire.

Usually if you stay silent, the call will hang up on its own after around 5 seconds. Tons of international calls seem to work by voice activation, so just keep quiet and it should end quickly.
