Just got the first dodgy call of the year - some recorded message in an American accent talking about BT internet. I hung up before I heard the whole thing and blocked the number straight away. Had a couple of calls like this last year too (which I also blocked), so I’m guessing they keep changing their numbers. They just want you to press a button so they can ring you back on a premium rate line, I reckon. No way am I falling for that again.

this number has called me quite a few times. once i got a live person claiming my bt broadband security was at risk. other times, it was just automated messages warning that my broadband would be cut off the next day.

This number rang me like four times today, but every time I picked up, it just went dead. I’m pretty sure it’s one of those scam things trying to get you to call them back so they can charge you loads. We never ring back, obviously, but it still gets really annoying. Someone, like the phone company or the government, really needs to put a stop to this rubbish.

Today, I've had four calls from this exact number, the first three showed up as 01618587002. Since I never pick up numbers I don't know, I blocked it as nuisance. Then, I got another call, but it came through as 001618587002, so I blocked that one too. I'm pretty sure these folks are able to fake or generate phone numbers easily. Even though the last one looked like it was coming from the US, I really doubt that's true - probably just the same lot trying to bypass the block. This sort of cold calling really needs to be shut down.

I just received a rather alarming automated call purporting to be from BT, warning that our internet service was set to be cut off today. Interestingly, I've had three such calls come through today. The sound quality was quite dreadful, especially towards the end of the message, which left me unable to grasp the final instructions. Consequently, I decided it was best to hang up rather than follow any dubious directions. I took the initiative to reach out to BT directly for clarification, and to my relief, they confirmed that these calls are indeed a scam. The representative mentioned that numerous other customers have reported similar frustrations, all receiving alarming notifications about their internet lines supposedly being terminated. It's quite concerning!

Well, lucky me, I get one of those calls again! Some American-sounding recorded message about a supposed BT broadband problem. I didn’t even wait to hear more, just ended the call and blocked the number immediately. It’s a US number, so definitely dodgy in my book.

Got a call supposedly from BT but the number's actually from the US? The voice was robotic and kept saying I was going to be cut off, telling me to press 1 or 2 to fix it. Feels like a scam to make you rack up expensive fees, don't fall for it!
