11 yearsA few times now I’ve been phoned by people saying they’re from Microsoft. The latest was an Indian bloke called Bryan who had a really dodgy mix of an Irish and Indian accent. He claimed my computer had some kind of infection, which was a bit odd since I’d just run a full virus and malware scan - all clear. I played along for a while when he offered to fix it for me, then I told him I was recording the call and would be reporting it to Interpol. That seemed to shut him up quick, he ended the call straight away.MicrosoftBryanInterpol11 yearsI told him it was a scam and he just hung up on me!11 yearsI received a call supposedly from Windows security, claiming my computer had been infected. I promptly told the caller to take a hike! Absolutely ridiculous, that sort of nonsense!11 yearsGot a call from someone with an Indian accent claiming to be from Microsoft, saying my computer had errors. I nearly played along for ages but didn’t have the patience, so I just told him to buzz off. It’s the usual trick where they try to get you to install some software so they can take control of your PC, mess it up and then demand a big ransom to fix it. Typical scam really.Microsoft11 yearsThis morning, I got a call from a lady with an Indian accent who claimed my computer was showing error warnings. When I started asking her some questions, she just hung up on me. Definitely a scam, watch out!11 yearsI got one of these calls not long ago. Honestly, the best thing to do is just put the phone down - it’s just a scam, nothing more.11 yearsI got a call from a lady saying she was from Windows, checking on my PC. When I asked her to identify herself properly, she just hung up. This has happened to me once or twice already, maybe the same number, I’m not certain. They try to scare you with a fake error message and then ask to get into your computer to “sort” it out. It's all rubbish, a total con!IndiaSubmit Your Own Report ((613) 852-8785)
