They claimed to be from a firm in Manchester, had my name and where I live, and were pushing Homeowner Grants. I told them I wasn’t interested and don’t take telemarketing calls. The woman on the phone was quite polite when ending the call.

Picked up the phone, but all I got was silence; the answering machine chimed in with a farewell. It's my father's number, and I'm quite concerned he might fall victim to a scam. Any suggestions on how to put an end to these pesky calls?

Here we go once more. Got a call from an Asian lady this morning claiming she was from the TPS and that we’re covered. Then she says, starting tomorrow we won’t get ANY more rubbish calls (like from muppets like her) but only if I agree to their service at some “special” deal just for today. Do they honestly believe everyone’s daft?? The TPS service is absolutely FREE anyway.

Got a call from a woman with an Asian accent saying she was from the Telephone Preference Service early in the morning. Seemed dodgy as she already had a lot of my info and asked me to verify it. I know the real TPS doesn’t charge a thing but they tried to get me to pay. Definitely a scam.

Got a call this morning at 9.03 from a guy with an Asian accent claiming he was with some telephone preference service, telling me I wouldn’t get any more annoying calls from now on. I didn’t say anything and he just hung up. Definitely a dodgy call from the number 001 613 532462.

Got a call on my landline from 001613532462, some unknown Indian sounding woman claiming she was calling to stop all unwanted calls from today onwards - yeah, right! Then she started banging on about some “amazing service”... so I asked her how much it would cost me. She said £5.99 a month. When I asked how they’d take payment, she said by Direct Debit, basically wanting my bank details over the phone - no chance! Told her thanks but no thanks, and hung up straight away. Totally a scam, watch out everyone!! Monday 29/1/18 around 9am.

Be careful everyone, this is a TOTAL RIP-OFF!!! Got a call at 1:30pm from a guy with an Indian accent saying he’s from the telephone preference service. He had my name and postcode and asked if I was the homeowner and the bill payer. Then he said if I still wanted to be on the TPS and stop nuisance calls, he’d connect me to a colleague who’d fix it. Next, an Indian lady came on the line telling me it would cost £49.99 to stay on the TPS!! I just laughed and told her there’s no way they’re legit TPS and that the police would be very interested in this. She hung up straight away!

On 23rd Jan 2018, some bloke called me saying he was Michael from the National Preference Service. I asked him to say it again coz his voice was really unclear. He told me I wouldn’t get marketing calls anymore and asked me to confirm my number. I was already wary since it was a bit early, about 7:44 in the morning, so I just ended the call straight away.

They keep ringing my elderly mum with these cold calls. Happens all the time. Honestly, I doubt BT does anything about it - why would they when they probably profit from it? It's so frustrating; I'd bin the landline if I could, but it's a must for older family members. I’d say these calls are HARMFUL considering how vulnerable elderly folks can be.

I've received multiple calls from this number now. Each time, it’s the same chap with an Asian accent. He’s trying to persuade me to stop these annoying international calls. This particular number has been ringing us quite often. We've opted to let our answering machine handle the calls round the clock, and it’s noticeable that this caller seldom leaves a message. It's quite effective for filtering out these pesky nuisance calls. A legitimate caller would surely drop a message if they had something important to convey. Discovering the identity of the caller is straightforward, either through caller ID or simply by calling 1471 at no cost. It's best not to answer the phone when this number comes up!

A bloke called 'Michael' from this number, claiming to be with National Preference Service and said he could stop all my spam calls - but of course, there was a fee! I told him I'd never heard of it and that the Telephone Preference Service is free anyway. He kept insisting he was genuine, saying it was only for people who owned the number themselves. Since it’s in my partner’s name, I wouldn't qualify - but he’d "sort me out" as a special case. I kept this muppet on the line for a good 3 minutes before he finally gave up and hung up!

Someone called saying they were from the Telephone Preference Service, telling me that the TPS was changing how it works and would cost £5.99 a month from February 2018. I received a call from someone with an accent that sounded Asian or Middle Eastern. They addressed me by name right off the bat, which was a bit odd. When I inquired about who was calling, they claimed to be from the National Telephone Service - can you believe it? Got a call this morning from someone with an Asian or Middle-Eastern accent asking for me by my name. When I asked who it was, they said they were from the "National Telephone Service". I received a call from a gentleman with a noticeable Asian accent who asked if he was speaking to me by name. I confirmed, but right away, I felt a bit uneasy about the situation. He went on to explain that he could help ensure I wouldn't be bothered by unwanted calls, only allowing those from my friends and family. I said that sounded fine at first, but as he carried on, I grew more uncomfortable and decided to end the conversation by hanging up. It all felt rather dubious, to be honest. 10th January, 8:33 am.

Honestly, it’s high time us folks pushed BT to take responsibility since they pretty much run the whole landline phone system. These annoying calls are just out of hand. If more people filed complaints with OFCOM, it might finally force BT to do something about it. If not, maybe the government should just consider taking BT back into public ownership.

Got a call from an Asian woman who asked me to verify my name and address, claiming they were going to put an end to annoying calls starting the next day. But when she started asking about how I settle my phone bill and which card I use, I knew it was dodgy and ended the call straight away.

Caution advised - I encountered an elderly lady, aged 85, who seemed rather anxious about sharing information.

Received two calls from this number earlier today. I picked up the first time, and the chap on the other end claimed to be from the Telephone Preference Service. I informed him we were already registered, so I wasn’t interested in his nonsense. He promptly ended the call. I chose to ignore the second attempt.

Just like everyone else here, got a call today before 8am. The person asked if they were talking to me and before I could say anything, they hung up. Then got another call at 10:07 doing the same thing. My landline doesn’t display caller ID so the only way to find out who it is, is to actually pick up.

This number has rung me over a dozen times, even once as early as 8 in the morning. As a Christian, I’ve started telling the caller that what they’re doing is not just illegal but also wrong in the eyes of God. They try to talk over me, but I just carry on sharing the message of the Christian gospel. They always hang up before I get to my second point. On a more serious note, they woke up my wife this morning, and she’s very poorly with 3 ongoing health issues.

Got a call from a guy with a Indian accent just before 8am on Boxing Day. Thought it might be something serious so I answered. As soon as he said my name I knew it was dodgy and hung up straight away. Put the number on block afterwards.

Every time my phone rings, it’s straight to the answering machine. Once it picks up, I let it dial 1471 to find out who’s been trying to get through. If the reply is 'no message', I reckon it’s probably not worth my time, so I jot the number down to add to my 'blacklist'. However, if it’s a mate or a proper caller, I’m quick to ring them back. For those annoying spam calls? A swift press of 'DELETE' does the trick. Honestly, if we all took this approach, we might just see a decrease in these bothersome calls... easy peasy!

It’s worth noting that Radom is also receiving calls in the early hours.

We’ve been bombarded with relentless calls from this number, asserting they represent the TPS. When I told them firmly to cease calling, the chap on the other end-who sounded Asian-had the audacity to say that the calls would only halt once I was dead, and that they’d keep ringing me repeatedly! When I mentioned I’d contact the police if they persisted, he sneered, asking, “What’s that to them?” I ended the call, but he promptly rang me back, and then again shortly after! What a nightmare!

An Asian gentleman claimed he could put an end to these bothersome calls! I told him he was a complete nuisance and promptly ended the conversation. He seemed to have all my information, which was quite unsettling!

Got a call from an Asian bloke who said his name was Daniel. He said he worked for some telecoms firm and that from tomorrow I wouldn’t get any more annoying calls. I asked if that included the call I was on right then, and he just started shouting at me before hanging up.

I received a call from an Asian chap who introduced himself as Daniel. He seemed to have a lot of personal information about me and claimed to be representing a telecom company. He assured me that from the morrow, spam calls would be a thing of the past. I couldn’t resist asking if this very call counted as a nuisance, and after that, I was met with some harsh words before he abruptly cut off the line. What a way to end a conversation!

These callers keep calling non stop. Since they’re from overseas and not UK numbers, the TPS doesn’t really help. Just hang up and dont give them any details.

Received a call earlier today. I tend to ignore any incoming calls marked as 'International' on my mobile, so I let it ring to voicemail. They didn’t bother to leave a message. After a quick search online, I stumbled upon this and several other websites, which confirmed my suspicions about it being a scam. I've since blocked the number.

Received a call earlier today from a lady with an Indian accent. She had all of my mother's information - her full name and address, which was quite unnerving. The caller claimed she could assist with stopping pesky nuisance calls. However, my mum wasn't keen on engaging, so she ended the conversation. Undeterred, the woman rang again, insisting they were here to help and mentioning that calls are recorded. Then she went on to ask how my mum's name appeared on her bank card and bizarrely requested a six-digit number on the back. Thankfully, my mum declined and hung up once more. They didn’t attempt to contact her again. It’s blatantly a scam!

Received a call today purporting to be from the TPref service. Utter nonsense, to be honest. The chap had an Indian accent and, when I questioned him, he provided a phone number: 0286 794548. I pointed out that it didn’t resemble a typical UK number, at which point he promptly terminated the call. Quite irksome, really!

Got a call from a woman with an Asian accent saying she was from BT. She told me there was a problem with my broadband and my security might be at risk. She then asked to get into my computer. When I asked her location, she said she was calling from the BT Centre in London, which is BT’s HQ - they wouldn’t make calls like that from there anyway. Even told them I previously worked at the BT Centre but they just keep phoning me. They also said they had my BT account number, which is dodgy.

Got a call at dawn from someone saying they were from the TPS. They had my father-in-laws info (he passed away last month, so that was a bit harsh for mum-in-law). Luckily, my partner was there and let the caller ramble on until they asked for money, then told them to jog on and cut the call.

Earlier today, I received a call from the number 001613532462. An individual with an Indian accent informed me that I would no longer be receiving any more marketing calls on my landline. She then mentioned she would transfer me to her finance manager for further details. Shortly after, a gentleman with an Indian accent began requesting my direct debit information to process a supposed one-off payment. I promptly disconnected the call. I'm registered with the Telephone Preference Service (TPS) and am aware that no payment is required for such matters. Moreover, if it were genuinely from BT, the number wouldn’t start with a double zero. It was clearly a scam.

I’ve got my answering machine fielding all calls these days. This particular number rang but didn’t bother leaving a message, which arouses my suspicions. It’s one I don’t recognise, so as far as I’m concerned, that’s the last I’ll think of it. Just thought I’d share this morsel of information, you know, to caution others... it’s probably a dodgy caller! Oh, and regarding the earlier mention of the "Do Not Call registery" or whatever-it’s actually spelled with just a single ‘e’ in ‘registry’, mind you! Stay safe!

No matter what they claim or promise, they’re just trying to get your bank info. Best thing to do is just end the call.

I received a call earlier today from something claiming to be the Phone Preference Service, insisting my registration was nearing its end. They had all my details - name, address, and number - which was quite alarming. They then proceeded to inquire about my direct debit arrangements for bill payments. Instinctively, I felt a red flag go up and I decided to end the call right there.

Got a call from an Indian bloke and a woman claiming they could put an end to nuisance calls. They already had mine and my other half's name, address and phone number (pretty obvious, right?) then asked for the PIN from my bank account, which apparently is on your cheque book. Yeah, no thanks. Total scam. Don’t fall for it. I’m definitely reporting them.

I'm getting daily nuisance calls from these folks who seem to have nothing better to do! It’s a right bother since it usually happens while my little one is snoozing away. I can’t bear the thought of the phone ringing and waking them up, so I pick up to cut the racket, only for them to go silent and hang up after a moment. It’s incredibly frustrating! Does anyone know how I can block this number and finally get some peace?
