They claimed to be from a firm in Manchester, had my name and where I live, and were pushing Homeowner Grants. I told them I wasn’t interested and don’t take telemarketing calls. The woman on the phone was quite polite when ending the call.

Here we go once more. Got a call from an Asian lady this morning claiming she was from the TPS and that we’re covered. Then she says, starting tomorrow we won’t get ANY more rubbish calls (like from muppets like her) but only if I agree to their service at some “special” deal just for today. Got a call on my landline from 001613532462, some unknown Indian sounding woman claiming she was calling to stop all unwanted calls from today onwards - yeah, right! Then she started banging on about some “amazing service”... so I asked her how much it would cost me. She said £5.99 a month. When I asked how they’d take payment, she said by Direct Debit, basically wanting my bank details over the phone - no chance! Told her thanks but no thanks, and hung up straight away. Be careful everyone, this is a TOTAL RIP-OFF!!! Got a call at 1:30pm from a guy with an Indian accent saying he’s from the telephone preference service. He had my name and postcode and asked if I was the homeowner and the bill payer. Then he said if I still wanted to be on the TPS and stop nuisance calls, he’d connect me to a colleague who’d fix it. Next, an Indian lady came on the line telling me it would cost £49.99 to stay on the TPS!! I just laughed and told her there’s no way they’re legit TPS and that the police would be very interested in this. She hung up straight away!

On 23rd Jan 2018, some bloke called me saying he was Michael from the National Preference Service. I asked him to say it again coz his voice was really unclear. He told me I wouldn’t get marketing calls anymore and asked me to confirm my number. I was already wary since it was a bit early, about 7:44 in the morning, so I just ended the call straight away.

A bloke called 'Michael' from this number, claiming to be with National Preference Service and said he could stop all my spam calls - but of course, there was a fee! I told him I'd never heard of it and that the Telephone Preference Service is free anyway. He kept insisting he was genuine, saying it was only for people who owned the number themselves. As a Christian, I’ve started telling the caller that what they’re doing is not just illegal but also wrong in the eyes of God. They try to talk over me, but I just carry on sharing the message of the Christian gospel. They always hang up before I get to my second point. Whenever I get a call, my answerphone picks it up first and then I check the number by dialling 1471 to hear who it was. If there's no message left, I figure it’s likely not worth bothering with, so I jot down the number on my 'blocked' list. But if it's a mate or someone important, I give them a ring back. For any dodgy or spam callers, I just hit 'DELETE' straight away. Honestly, if more people did this, I think those annoying calls would drop off pretty quickly... easy as that!

Got a call from an Asian bloke who said his name was Daniel. He said he worked for some telecoms firm and that from tomorrow I wouldn’t get any more annoying calls. I asked if that included the call I was on right then, and he just started shouting at me before hanging up.

Got a call off some Asian bloke calling himself Daniel, said he had all my info and was from the telecom company. Told me I’d stop getting any more annoying calls from tomorrow. When I asked if that included the one I was on, he just started swearing and then hung up on me.

These callers keep calling non stop. Since they’re from overseas and not UK numbers, the TPS doesn’t really help. Just hang up and dont give them any details.

Got a call from this number earlier today. I never pick up if it shows as 'International' on my caller ID, so I just let it ring out to voicemail. Nothing was left though. I looked the number up on Google and found this website along with loads of others saying it’s a scam. So yeah, I’ve blocked them now.

Got a call from an Indian lady today. She had all of my mum's info - full name, where she lives and everything. She claimed she could put an end to the annoying calls. Mum just ended the call since she wasn't having it. Then she called again saying they're here to assist, mentioned calls are recorded, then asked what name was on her bank card and pushed for the 6-digit code underneath. Mum refused and hung up straight away. They didn’t try ringing again. Definitely seemed like a con.

Got a call from this number early this morning around 8:10 but I didn’t pick up. I’m signed up to the telephone preference service, but clearly whoever’s behind this doesn’t care about anyone’s privacy.

Got a call today from someone saying they were with the TPref service. Totally sketchy. The bloke had a thick Indian accent, and when I asked for his phone number he gave me 0286 794548. Told him that’s not a proper UK number, then he just hung up on me. Proper irritating.

Got a call from a woman with an Asian accent saying she was from BT. She told me there was a problem with my broadband and my security might be at risk. She then asked to get into my computer. When I asked her location, she said she was calling from the BT Centre in London, which is BT’s HQ - they wouldn’t make calls like that from there anyway. Even told them I previously worked at the BT Centre but they just keep phoning me. They also said they had my BT account number, which is dodgy.

someone called me saying they wouldnt ring back again. I stopped them straight away and told them to not call anymore as they've already been ringing loads with pretty much the same story.

Got a call at dawn from someone saying they were from the TPS. They had my father-in-laws info (he passed away last month, so that was a bit harsh for mum-in-law). Luckily, my partner was there and let the caller ramble on until they asked for money, then told them to jog on and cut the call.

So, I got a call from +001613532462, and some woman with an Indian accent was saying I wouldn’t get any more marketing calls to my landline. She said she’d connect me to a finance manager for more info, but then a guy with an Indian accent came on and started asking for my direct debit info to take a one-off payment. I just hung up straight away. I’m registered with the TPS anyway, so there’s no reason to pay anything. Plus, if it was really BT calling, the number wouldn’t start with double zeros like that. Definite scam.

I’ve got my answering machine fielding all calls these days. This particular number rang but didn’t bother leaving a message, which arouses my suspicions. It’s one I don’t recognise, so as far as I’m concerned, that’s the last I’ll think of it. Just thought I’d share this morsel of information, you know, to caution others... it’s probably a dodgy caller! Oh, and regarding the earlier mention of the "Do Not Call registery" or whatever-it’s actually spelled with just a single ‘e’ in ‘registry’, mind you! Stay safe!

No matter what they claim or promise, they’re just trying to get your bank info. Best thing to do is just end the call.

Got a call today claiming to be from the telephone preference service, saying my subscription was about to run out. They already had my name, phone number, and address which freaked me out a bit. Then they started asking about setting up a direct debit to cover bill payments. That set off all sorts of warning signs so I just ended the call straight away.

Got a call from an Indian bloke and a woman claiming they could put an end to nuisance calls. They already had mine and my other half's name, address and phone number (pretty obvious, right?) then asked for the PIN from my bank account, which apparently is on your cheque book. Yeah, no thanks. Total scam. Don’t fall for it. I’m definitely reporting them.

This number called me 3 times today, and it was so frustrating! I had to pause everything just to answer, but when I picked up, there was nobody on the other end. Honestly, I didn’t even want to speak to whoever it was. So annoying, argh!

This number rang me earlier, and when I said hello, there was silence. Then suddenly an automated voice just said "Goodbye" and the call just ended. Proper annoying! 😠

They’ve been ringing every day now. I can’t just let it buzz off since my little one’s usually asleep, so I pick up just to kill the noise but then no one talks and they hang up after a second or two. Does anyone know how to block this number? It’s getting really annoying!

Got a call today from some bloke with rubbish line and terrible English. He said starting tomorrow he'd stop unwanted calls. I asked, "Like this one?" and he just hung up. Ha! Bet he’d have got more done if his English was any good!!

I received a call from the number mentioned above. The chap claimed to be representing the Telephone Preference Service, or TPS. He insisted that he’d spoken to me previously and tried to engage me with some persuasive chatter. However, in the end, I wasn't swayed and he abruptly ended the conversation. Quite curious, really!
