Got a call from someone saying they were with the telephone preference service, but as soon as I said anything, they just dropped the call. Lovely!

Received yet another ring from this number; the first I missed, and the second one appeared to be quite proper, merely verifying my details for the TPS. However, today's call was rather drawn out in getting through, and then a woman with an accent from the far East began reciting the same script verbatim, finishing with the promise that "this will put an end to all nuisance calls." I politely informed her that I'd already been contacted twice previously and it was turning into quite a bother. At that point, she disconnected the call.
