This number, 0016072501229, has been calling me repeatedly the last few days. I haven't picked up once, and no one’s left a voicemail after I asked for one. That kind of behaviour always sets off alarm bells for me, so I’m pretty sure it’s some sort of scam. Be very careful with it. Cheers, AH from Edinburgh. Also, when I tried to report this, I was asked to say what kind of number it was - looks like a US landline to me.

I got a phone call from a woman with an American accent named Kelly, saying someone wanted to buy shares of mine in BP - which I don’t even own. When I asked where she was calling from, she told me Underwood Consulting. I told her to send the offer through the post, but she insisted it had to be an email or fax because it was urgent. When I said I preferred a letter, she just hung up on me. I searched Underwood Consulting online and called the number listed. The person who answered had no idea about any BP shares or a Kelly, so I’m pretty sure this was a scam.

This number rang me again just now, must’ve been about two weeks since the first time. They wanted to speak to a relative who wasn’t home earlier, mentioned something about British Airways shares or something like that. I told the caller it seemed dodgy, but they insisted it was really important to talk directly with that person. When I asked for details in writing, they claimed it was too urgent for that. Feels like a classic scammer who just won’t give up.

Received a few calls from Underwood Consultancy LLC who’re interested in purchasing my SSE shares for more than their worth. They’ve requested I sign some kind of confidentiality agreement. Apparently, my payout would be around 8 times my current shares. But then they asked for an insurance fee to ‘secure’ the deal, which seemed dodgy. I thought they’d try and just grab the shares, but instead it looks like a direct way to get my cash. Certainly feels like a scam to me.

Got a call from 0016072501229 a couple days back, someone asking for a family member by their first name. I told them they weren’t in, then the caller said her name was Stephanie and was asking about the family member’s availability - mentioned something about buying BA or IAG shares. She kept pressing for a better time to ring back. I didn’t give a clear response. Just now the same number called again but I let it ring out. Feels dodgy to me, probably a scam.

0016072501229 - BEWARE! Marked as spam for me since I didn't catch the whole message. Judging by what others have said, looks like these calls are fishing for personal info, probably even bank details. Definitely seems dodgy.

We got a call from a New York number, 06072501229, someone trying to buy our BP shares. They asked for our email, but we didn’t give it. Told them we needed to consider it and would get back. They plan to ring us again tomorrow. Pretty sure it’s some kind of scam.

Got a call from someone saying they were from New York, Underwood or something, saying they spoke for a client interested in buying my BP shares. They kept going on about paying way more than market value and asked for my contact info so they could send over an NDA. Strangely, they already knew my name. Seemed totally dodgy to me.

Got a call about IAG shares, the lot that owns BA, saying some big investor wants to grab 51% control. They said they're buying up shares off small holders, trying to get a controlling stake. Be careful - they try to get your bank info and you could end up losing all your money. Don’t fall for it!
