Got a call at 8 this morning, wasn’t sure who it could be since I don’t have any mates abroad, so I just let it ring out.

Got a recorded call telling me that my phone number had been hacked - total scam, watch out!

Some bloke rang me claiming he was with BT Openreach, saying their engineers had been sorting gear nearby and they'd have to tweak my internet setup. When I asked why BT would mess about with a connection that’s not their own, he got proper nasty. I said no way I was going to play along and warned I’d report him. Then he went off, swearing at me three times and threatening to ring me every single hour, all day long! Honestly, if anyone doubted, this is a textbook scam and pretty dodgy at that.

Yesterday, I got a call from 0855, with someone saying they were from BT Openreach, and they even used my name which made it convincing at first. They claimed an engineer had checked my line and needed me to switch my router to a different channel for better performance, saying I’d have to adjust some router settings. It didn’t feel right, so I ended the call. Then today at about 825, they rang again but hung up almost straight away. I reckon they want you to follow instructions to change things on your router or computer, which would probably mess things up for you, not for them.

Got a call around 8:53 but it went straight to voicemail. No message left or anything.

So, they rang me yesterday at about 8.10 in the morning and then again this morning around 7.45. I just let it go to voicemail both times and each time they ended up hanging up.

Got a call from someone saying they were with Openreach, telling me to update some codes on my computer. Sounded dodgy to me.

Got a call really early in the morning, and when I picked up, they just ended the call straight away.

Got a couple of calls from 0015748820456 on December 11th, first one at about 7.45 in the morning and then again around 12.15pm. We didn’t answer because it was an international number, and we had no idea who it could be.

This is the second time in just a few days I’ve gotten a call from this number. I don’t know anyone there. The call dropped after just a few seconds and nobody said a word.
