Quick update on my previous note from 13/12/16. Turns out being a bit of a pain actually worked in my favour! Haven't had a single ring from that number since.

I got a call earlier today, and when I gave the phone to my hubby, this Asian lady switched to an Asian bloke who just wouldn’t chat and then ended the call.

Checked my phone just now and noticed this number called me three times yesterday and another couple today. I’ve got international calls blocked, so I didn’t even get bothered by them, which is a relief. I’m sure they’ll try pestering other folks though. Really thankful I've got a solid call blocker on my landline to keep these annoying calls at bay.

Got a call from this number earlier today. A woman with an Asian accent said she was calling from BT and claimed my computer was being hacked. She asked me to switch it on so she could guide me through some steps to fix it. I told her she probably was the hacker herself and ended the call right away.

Within just half an hour, I got calls three times - initially from an Asian guy, followed by two Asian women both saying their name was Annie, claiming they represented BT Openreach. When I told them I knew they weren’t from BT and that I’d alerted the police, they immediately ended the call. Never share any details with them, these lot are most definitely scammers trying to get into your internet and devices.

Today I got a call from someone claiming to be BT saying there was a problem with my line that wasn’t showing up on my computer. I told them I don’t have a computer (when I actually do) and the caller just ended the call straight away! I’ve also been getting these calls late at night, which is really annoying. I keep telling her there’s no issue with my computer and if she calls again I’ll report it to the police. Around lunchtime, my landline rang with a call from this number. A man with an Asian accent, trying to sound American, said it was some kind of ‘verification call for a customer like me.’ Totally not true! I didn’t say a word and ended the call straight away. Could be worth doing this to protect your wallet and keep your peace of mind. I used 1471 to check and found the call actually came from the US.

A lady with an Asian accent called the place I’m working at, wanted to talk to the boss (like I’d actually let her through). When I told her no, she just told me to ‘shut your mouth’ and then ended the call. Gotta admit, it made me chuckle a bit.
