Weird number called but I just ignored it. Felt a bit dodgy, so I let it ring out until it stopped. Didn't bother picking up at all.

Somebody rang saying they were from the Telephone Preference Department, but when I asked why they were calling me, they just hung up. Told them I’m already signed up with the Telephone Preference Service anyway.

On 07/01/19 at 13:53, I picked up the phone without checking who it was. There was no one speaking, just a recorded voice saying "Goodbye." The number showing in my call log was 0015098374812.

Had a call from an Asian lady claiming to be from TPS, telling me they were blocking nuisance calls. She already knew my name, address, and postcode, even said I paid my bill by direct debit and that they needed to verify my card expiry because their info was out of date. When I asked for the account number they had on record, she couldn’t give me a straight answer, which gave it away straight away as a scam. I told her no chance she was getting any details from me, and she just hung up. Still wondering how on earth they managed to get hold of my personal info like that.

My phone buzzed at around 7.15 in the morning. I answered quickly so as not to disturb everyone, but the caller just said "goodbye" and hung up. I've gone ahead and blocked the number now.

I had almost the same thing happen. Some bloke with an Indian accent said he was calling from the TPS and that he was in Victoria, London. When I asked for their official phone number, he just wouldn’t give it to me, so I ended the call. Pretty obvious it was a scam to me.

I got a call from this number, and they were asking if I’m signed up to the TPS. Problem was, I couldn’t hear what the person was saying clearly, so when I asked them to say it again, they just ended the call straight away! After that, I checked the number using 1471 and ended up on this site.

Some bloke rang me claiming he was from the TPS and said he could stop my spam calls. I told him they must be rubbish at their job cos obviously, they’re not blocking calls like his. Then he told me he’d disconnect my phone and just hung up on me. Strange call!

Yeah, some guy Brian from PRS called. Didn’t really get if he was saying same name or what. Since I pay by direct debit, he wanted to check my visa card expiry date. Told him direct debit doesn’t need a card, it’s sorted by whoever takes the payment. Got a bit annoyed with him, gave him a piece of my mind.

Got a call from some guy named Brian, said he was ringing from "Telephone Preference Management". Tried to get me to cough up cash to block spam calls. Total rip-off, TPS doesn't charge a penny.
