10 yearsReceived a call from an Indian number, purporting to be from TalkTalk, insisting there’s an issue with my router. The chap asked me to check my computer and told me to hit the Windows key and 'R' at the same time, claiming it would bring up the 'Run' dialogue in Windows. I soon realised this was just a ploy to gain access to my machine. He even inquired if I did online banking. Luckily, I’m on a Linux setup, which seemed to baffle him. He then sought help from his so-called 'superior' and wanted to know if I had any Apple or Windows devices lying about, to which I replied 'No'. Following that, the line abruptly went silent. This is clearly a scam aimed at extracting money, and TalkTalk has disavowed any association with this number. I've experienced multiple calls from this one and others, all claiming there's a Windows-related issue with my computer! Just a friendly reminder: Microsoft will never, and I mean never, call your home!TalkTalkAppleMicrosoft10 yearsGot a missed call when I wasn’t home, and the voicemail just had this noisy background like a crowded call centre, no actual message though. The number had a US country code, which seemed a bit strange. Definitely feels like those scammy types who’ll likely ring back. If they do, I’ll give them a piece of my mind about the harm they’re doing, no matter their faith, cos what they’re doing is basically stealing!10 yearsI wasnt home when they rang, all I got was the answerphone picking up with loads of background noise like a busy call centre, but no one left a message. The number looked like it was from the US which was strange. I reckon it’s scammers, and they’ll likely give it another go soon. If they do, I’m ready to give them a proper telling off about how what they’re doing is just plain wrong and stealing, no matter what their beliefs are. Total theft!US10 yearsGot a call from someone with an Asian accent saying they were from TalkTalk and wishing me good afternoon, so I just ended the call right away.TalkTalk10 yearsI got a call from a woman who sounded like she was working in some call centre abroad. She claimed to be from TalkTalk and asked me about the lights on my router. After I told her, she said there was some issue between my computer and the internet, even hinted at a nasty virus. Then she asked me to switch my computer on, but I told her I couldn’t do it right that moment. She said she’d call back later, but I told her no. Despite that, she called again, said she was from TalkTalk, double-checked my name, but I told her I was fine the way things were and ended the call.TalkTalk10 yearsi got a call from someone claiming to be with talktalk, sounded pretty legit at first. they had me run a scan on my laptop and then said i was owed £200 compensation, asked for my bank info which i said no to. later i rang talktalk myself and turns out it was a total scam. i blocked the number but now they're calling me from 01341074935. this time they said they were from windows, but i hung up as soon as i told them i wasn’t buying it.TalkTalk10 yearsAt first, there was nothing but silence when I answered, then the line went dead. On the next ring, a polite “Good morning, madam,” came through.Submit Your Own Report (489292552)
