Got a call from 001482676876, sounded like the guy had a thick Indian accent. He claimed my bank had charged me too much. I told him to bugger off and so forth, and then he just started yelling abuse before hanging up. Honestly, best to just ignore this number altogether.

Got a call from a man with an Asian accent, said his name was Mike Spencer from the UK Claims Advisory team based at 223 Regent Street, London. He told me the government was sending me a cheque as a refund for bank charges I’d overpaid. He gave me some sort of reference number but only asked for my bank’s name. I decided to give him the name of a completely different bank instead of the one I actually use. He then said someone would ring me back asking for that reference number and would inform me about the payout amount. Still not really sure what the whole scam is meant to do.

Got a call today from the same number. He’s rung me up a few times before, and last time I told him off pretty sharp. Today, he asked to talk to my missus, but I just hung up. There was loads of noise in the background, sounded like a busy call centre or summat.

Today I got a call from this number, some Asian bloke asking for me by name. I told him I'd signed up to the TPS and to stop sending me stuff. He said it was serious because they were going to shut down my bank account. He sounded a bit annoyed when I laughed and told him I don’t even have an account with that bank.

Some guy named Adam rang me up, said I was being charged ridiculous fees on my bank and that he had the details to prove it. He reckoned I’d get all the money back. He also claimed he was with the Ministry of Justice but honestly, it’s just a total scam.

I got a call saying I was being charged with extortion by my bank and they were gonna send me a cheque in the post. They had my address right but then they wanted me to confirm my name and birthday. I didn’t give them any of that info, I just ended the call straight away.

Over the last week, this number kept ringing me about 9 times. Today, I thought I'd mess about a bit and played the fool with the chap on the other end, who sounded Asian. He cut me off, told me to shut up and called me a "daft man" before hanging up. I had it on speaker, so everyone here got a good chuckle out of it. Keep them coming, I’m ready!

Someone rang asking to speak to "someone," without giving a name. I asked what the call was about, but all they kept saying was they wanted to talk to someone. After a few repeats, I just ended the call and used 1471 to check the number. I could hear other people talking in the background, like a call centre, and the caller chuckled when I warned I'd hang up if they didn’t explain. Bit dodgy, probably fishing for names or trying to get a callback.

Had three calls today! Two of them said they were from BT, claiming there was some massive security problem and they needed to check if my computer got affected. They gave the name Chris Martin and said they were from the UK, but the accent was definitely South Asian. I let out a loud whistle I keep handy for these dodgy calls right into the phone. Not sure it bothers them at all, but it sure cheers me up 😄

Got a call from an Asian lady claiming she was calling from Manchester about some bank charges they said I owed. I told her I wasn’t interested but she kept on going, refusing to end the call. She said I had to hang up first or she’d just stay on the line. She was really confident like she knew what she was doing. Definitely one of those phishing scams.

A guy, sounded Asian, called me sayin he wanted to send a cheque because I was overcharged at the bank. He wouldn’t say exactly what it was about but had my name and address. He asked if we had a mortgage or a building society account. He mentioned the cheque number was 11006009 and said someone called Jonatham (that’s how he spelt it) would ring us later from UK Claims, advisory dept in Manchester. I refused to give any info, and he tried to tell me it was legit UK stuff, probably just to lower my guard. I checked the number by dialling 1471 and it was listed as 001482676879 but my phone showed 0012341234. Definitely smells like a scam to me, so watch out, these scammers are really sneaky...

I got a call from a man with an Asian accent who claimed he had my name and address. He told me I was owed a refund because I’d been overcharged on a few accounts. Before I could get a word in and find out more, he asked for my date of birth to confirm he was sending the refund to the right person. When I wouldn’t give it to him, everything suddenly went silent. I asked if he had another question but got no response, even though I could still hear him breathing down the line. After that, I just hung up.
