Got a call about credit cards, total scam. Better to just hang up or block the number.

Got a call from this number on my landline here in Oxfordshire - same old robo message lots of folks mention: "Warning, warning, your credit card's been hacked." I just hung up right away and looked it up here. Seriously, do we have to just accept this rubbish like it’s some kind of funny prank? Feels a bit like how our government spins the Referendum outcome with their totally dodgy version!

They rang my 80 year old mum and scared her pretty badly. Thankfully, she ended the call before the message finished and didnt go pressing any buttons.

This number keeps popping up for both my mum and dad, who are older. Luckily, they’re pretty savvy about these sorts of calls.

Anyone got any idea what happens if you actually press 1? My mum went and did it before she figured out what was going on, then she just hung up straight away!

Got a call this morning from a woman saying "alert! alert! your credit card's been hacked, press 1 to fix it." Thing is, I don't even own a credit card. This place is a joke nowadays - full of scammers trying to steal from anyone they can.

Got that same recorded message sayin' 'Warning! Your credit card might be at risk'. Didn’t even think twice about hitting 1 like they said, knew right away it was just another credit card scam going around??

Not sure who it was but they told me to press 1 to fix a security problem with my credit card. Sounds like the same scam as others mentioned. The call came through on a Co Durham landline.

Got the same call. I was chatting with a bloke named 'Tedgray' who had an American accent and seemed pretty convincing at first. But things got fishy when I asked him to confirm my own info. Then I requested his number to ring him back, but he said they couldn’t share it because of security. When I asked if it was a scam, the call just ended. The number that called me was 001442077230741, and when I tried ringing back, no luck.

Got a call saying my credit card had been compromised. I’m signed up with TPS anyway, but honestly TPS feels pretty useless nowadays. Not gonna fork out more cash for a call blocker, I already pay enough just for my line rental.

Got a call on my unlisted number that's on the TPS list. I didn’t pick up since it was an international number, which my phone normally blocks anyway. Came here to check the reviews and just as I thought, it’s another dodgy scam outfit trying to rip people off.

Got the same call as what others have said. It was a lady’s voice and she told me to press 1 to fix a problem - I didn’t bother though! I’m on the TPS list, but these calls keep getting through more and more. Proper dodgy scam this one - folks really need to give a heads up to their older or more vulnerable family members.

Got a call from 001442077230741 today too, said something about a credit card alert. Didn’t press any number, just hung up straight away. Sadly, loads of folks, especially the elderly, might not be savvy with the internet or how to check these things themselves. It's a serious issue, honestly.

001442077230741 Honestly, these annoying calls are driving me mad. Alert alert alert! Maybe world war 3 has kicked off but I reckon I’ll just use my credit card to book a trip to mars before everything goes kaboom. That woman on the phone is so annoying (wish she’d lose her voice with all the calls she’s making). PLEASE someone put an end to these calls, politicians or whoever’s responsible, before I completely lose it!

Got the same call again, a woman’s voice saying something like, "Warning, your credit card might be at risk, please press 1." Totally a scam. It’s really worrying, especially for elderly or younger folks who might fall for it. Wish these scammers could be locked up, but first someone has to actually catch them and that’s no easy job.

Got a call today, ended it fast and looked the number up which brought me here. We're signed up with TPS so we shouldn't be getting these calls, but that clearly means nothing as this was a scam. I dont even own a credit card! Stay alert everyone!!!

Like others, I’m puzzled how this call managed to get through since I have international calls blocked on my phone.

The tone of her voice sounded like an emergency drill, like you gotta rush to your safety spot on a ship. It feels like a pretty sneaky trick, honestly. Ive heard folks say that older people might easily fall for it and hit 1, if they dont panic too much first.

Got a recorded voice saying "warning warning, your credit card might be at risk" so I just ended the call. 00144 isn't a normal dialling code, looks like a fake number, so the call could originate from anywhere. The caller ID showed USA but when I checked online earlier after a call today, it said Malawi. Considering the accent was British, 00144 might actually be from the UK.
