On 25th April 2019, around 10:50, I got a call from 001415581121. The caller sounded quite forceful and I think they had an Indian accent. They said they were from BT and warned me my broadband was about to be disconnected. Why doesn’t British Telecom do something about these scammers using their name?

Got a call around half ten in the morning. No voicemail left, but I’m well aware of the caller. They keep ringing with that rubbish about my internet getting disconnected. Honestly, who actually believes this kind of scam?

Here we go again, the classic tale: internet suddenly drops and right away you think it’s a scam! Honestly, every time my connection goes offline, my mind races to the worst-case scenario like some dodgy scammer trying to mess with me. It’s like the instant cut-off is some sort of red flag, even though it’s probably just normal tech issues. But yeah, the “internet gone = scam alert” suspicion is such a well-worn story now.
