yep, this has gotta be ebay. if you haven't signed up for ebay or don't have an account, dont expect this call. Most likely someone else is trying to register with your phone number or maybe they just mistyped the digits.

I got a call from eBay, they said it was to give me a code or something like that.

This number really does belong to eBay, just like others have said. If you're online trying to change your account details, they'll give you a ring from this number and ask you to enter a certain number or symbol as verification. I guess, like anything online, there's always a chance it's been compromised, but personally, I’d consider it trustworthy unless shown otherwise.

Received two calls from this number, both times they left a voicemail saying if I was expecting the call, I should press zero.

Got a call from someone claiming to be from eBay, but it was clearly a scam.

so some calls just keep coming from what i guess is ebay? weird thing is i never signed up with this number on ebay. my phone's been buzzing non-stop and now ive blocked the number but they keep leaving loads of voicemails like some kinda torture. definitely sounds like spam to me.

If you've locked your eBay account and try to change your password, this number might ring you up. It’s pretty much eBay's way of sending a verification code by phone to help you reset your password and get back into your account. So, if you see a call from this number after a password reset attempt, that's why!

Got a call from 0014083767400 about midnight, rang like 4 times. They claimed to be from eBay and said to hit hash if I was expecting the call. I just ignored it and hung up.

I got a call from this number at like 4.30 in the morning, which totally woke me up. They rang me twice and I’ve never even used eBay before. It just made me feel uneasy and honestly kind of scared.

I got a computer-generated PIN from eBay just to verify the phone number I provided them.

So, basically, when you get a call showing a confirmation number, it’s actually eBay checking if your registered phone is legit. They do this with a specific pin to verify your number. This is connected to their prime customer program, which is like a free premier membership they offer.

Ebay has a system in place that provides a PIN for verifying your identity in various online finance applications like StarMoney. However, this should not occur automatically. The process should only be initiated once you, yourself, kick things off. At that point, Ebay will reach out to the phone number you've either saved in your profile or the one you've specified, delivering an automated message. It’s essential to ensure that this phone number isn't a spam line.

I received a phone call from the number 0014083767400 at approximately 13:26 GMT on the 10th of January 2013. The call, which seemed to be automated, claimed to be from eBay. After pressing '8' as prompted, I was provided with a 'verification number'. This is the first time I've ever had a similar call from eBay. Do you reckon it's worth reaching out to eBay’s Live Chat about this?

They rang me late at night, around 10pm, saying they were from eBay and to press 2 if I was expecting the call. I just ended the call. Later, they phoned me three more times over 20 minutes. Proper annoying!

I received a call yesterday afternoon from a lady speaking English. She mentioned something about pressing nine if I wished to accept the call, which I obviously didn't do. I’ve just found out it was supposedly from eBay, but I’ve never engaged with them in any capacity.

We decided to close our eBay account and received confirmation back in June that it had indeed been shut down, with the understanding that it would take around 180 days for our information to be fully removed. However, just last night we received a call from the number 0014083767400, in which they were asking us to verify something and requested we press the number six. Since we were not anticipating this call at all, we chose to hang up. Earlier today, we've gone ahead and dropped eBay an email to inquire about how this could occur, given that our account was meant to be inactive. Now, we shall wait to see what response they provide.

Well, I too received a rather curious call claiming to be from eBay. It was quite the surprise! Thankfully, my Fritz!Box is set up to block such nuisance calls in the future. Quite relieved, I must say!

Late last night, our home phone received a rather untimely call at around half past eleven. Honestly, who calls at such an hour?! We certainly don't wish to be disturbed like that again. As per usual, dealing with eBay has been an absolute nightmare; they’ve completely ignored our messages. We're seriously considering shutting down our account due to this nonsense.

I've received a call from an unfamiliar number linked to eBay, and it's quite the nuisance. If you’re prompted for a certificate for third-party applications-like those eBay apps for pre-owned or iPhones-be aware that they might try to authenticate your identity by ringing you up. There are instances where this call comes through when you're using a different computer from the one you typically sell items on. If you’ve not even touched your account yet and get a call from 0014083767400, it’s a wise move to change your eBay password immediately! Better safe than sorry, I say!

We received a call from eBay at precisely 16:00 and 18 seconds, which unfortunately roused both my partner and me from our evening slumber. We find this quite unacceptable and wish to refrain from any further contact from them.

Oh my days! You lot are clearly fuming! Honestly, you all ought to experience a rude awakening at some ungodly hour! It’s quite the sight to imagine countless irate individuals being jolted awake by a monotonous eBay ringtone. Absolutely hilarious, I must say! Your collective grumbles have brought quite the chuckle to our day. Keep it up, you funny bunch! :D:D:D:D:D:D

Oh, for heaven's sake! Who on earth has the audacity to ring at half two in the morning with a robotic voice? It's utterly absurd! Talk about lacking intelligence. Typical nonsense from across the pond, isn’t it? Honestly, just sod off already!
