Some bloke rang up saying he was from a firm wanting to buy my shares in an old company I used to work for, trying to push a takeover that sounded well dodgy. He clearly had no clue about how share prices or takeovers actually work. Totally confused him in the end.

Got a call from someone claiming they worked for SSE Energy and wanted to buy shares off ordinary folks as part of a takeover plan. I only hold a tiny fraction of SSE shares myself, so it seemed a bit unlikely they’d be calling me for such a small stake. Not sure if it was the real deal or not, though it felt a bit dodgy. (By the way, OVO actually completed the takeover of SSE back in January 2020.)
