Got a call from the US Lottery Office on 13/01/20 saying we’d bagged a second prize of £500,000 and needed to claim it within 18 days. Bit of a laugh really, cos we were actually in the States then and could’ve avoided the cost of the flight to pick it up! This was the first time we’ve been picked out like this, and since we never enter any lottery, we’re definitely not phoning 001 347 669 9085 again. Hopefully, they’ll give our so-called winnings to a good cause or something!

It’s so cruel for them to target someone elderly and vulnerable like her. I really hope they get what’s coming to them. Thankfully she didn’t pick up the phone.

It seemed fishy to me since I don’t remember entering any lottery, so I didn’t bother calling. The number didn’t look right and I’ve heard about these sorts of scams before.

Then I checked out all the comments and realised it’s just the same scam with different prize numbers - mine was 91795. I thought maybe I could finally quit work! They’ve rung a few times before but never left a voicemail until now; usually they just cut me off straight away.

Just like others have said, my mother-in-law got a voicemail saying she’d won £500,000, with the same reference number that’s been mentioned in other posts. She was smart though and called me to see if it was legit - I looked up the number and found this website.

I got a voicemail from 01915266034 claiming I’d won £500,000. They gave me a reference number, 68971, and this other number, 0013476699085, which I decided to ring back. A guy with a strong South Asian accent answered, went through some stuff I struggled to catch, and when I told him I wasn’t buying it, the call just dropped suddenly.

Got a voicemail from someplace calling itself the Canada Lottery Centre saying I’d won half a million pounds. They claimed I’d missed their letters and calls, but I never entered any lottery so I knew it was dodgy right away. If it seems unbelievable, it probably is! I usually ignore calls from numbers I don’t know anyway, which is lucky because I’m bombarded with them every day.
