For anyone wondering; it’s not true that by 2016 every home... If you fancy warming your house by just lighting a fire right in the centre and making a hole in the roof for the smoke to escape, well, the government won’t really be able to stop you (provided it’s done safely). But if you start inviting a load of cannibals over to spit-roast and eat folks on that fire, you could be in some serious bother - not with the authorities, but with the crowd gathered in your living room keen to watch. Of course, that’s not actually what happens, but these people really get on your nerves, especially when they don’t even bother to hear what you’re complaining about.

Honestly, next time they call, I’m tempted to mess with them properly. I might just agree and let them come round, then douse them with a bucket of freezing water when they arrive. Would be hilarious!

This happens all the time to me too. They ring up daily and even when I hit 9 to opt out, they just keep going. It's so annoying, especially now with my new boiler and solar panels installed!

Got this annoying caller ringing me non-stop about swapping out boilers. The number kept buzzing me loads of times. Tried pressing "9" to opt out, but guess what? Didn't do a thing. When I hit "2" to chat and ask who they were, they just hung up on me. Been on the TPS for yonks, so it’s useless. This nonsense would stop in a heartbeat if there was any reason for it - but nope, BT seem to be cashing in on these pest calls, so they just let it slide. Annoying as hell.

Can anyone in charge clarify something for me? I keep hearing this automated message about "every home blah blah by the end of 2016..." but is there actually any truth to that? This number rings nearly every day without fail. Whenever I pick up, it's almost always silent or the call just drops. We've got people here working shifts, and they keep getting disturbed by the phone constantly buzzing. Honestly, it’s about time these calls were put to an end!

This number has been harassing me like 4 or 5 times a day! I tried signing up for the Telephone Preference Service online, which is free, but it didn’t completely stop the calls. What finally worked was buying the BT8500 advanced call blocker - cost me about £38 as a one-off. It filters out nearly 100% of those annoying nuisance calls. I also got caller ID for around £2 a month, which is definitely money well spent. These calls are really annoying, I get them at least a couple times each day. I tried ringing the number to tell them to stop, and a woman picked up. When I told her I was fed up with the constant calls and asked them to cease, she just dropped the call on me. Could hear quite a bit of noise behind her, like she was dealing with other calls at once.

Got a robocall offering appointment slots - I pressed 2 just to see who it might be. The moment I begun asking stuff, they cut me off straight away. Pretty obvious they want folks who don’t ask too much. Turns out, they're pushing boilers and heating panels you really don’t need, trying to scare you into believing your boiler doesn't meet some ‘government standards’. Complete rip-off!

Since nobody has been told about any assessments due by 2016 through proper channels, these calls must be fake, and it’s best not to pick up. They tend to switch numbers quite a bit, but I just keep blocking them as soon as they ring.
