To those who were pondering the question; Let me set the record straight-there's no factual basis to say that every home... by the year 2016... If you fancy warming your abode by lighting a blaze right in the middle of the lounge and creating an opening in the ceiling for smoke ventilation, then honestly, there's little that the authorities can do to prevent you (provided it's all above board, naturally). But if you then decide to host a gathering and invite a bunch of, shall we say, unsavoury characters to roast their fellow guests over said fire, well, that’s a different kettle of fish. Not so much the government you’d have to worry about, but rather the throng of onlookers you’d attract who might fancy a bit of entertainment. Of course, I’m exaggerating a touch, but it’s annoying nonetheless-especially when folks don’t even bother to heed your grievances.

I’m absolutely tempted to go along with it next time. I'll let them send someone round, and when they finally arrive, I’ll upend a bucket of ice-cold water over their head. What a laugh that would be!
