Got a call saying I’d won some American lottery, which totally threw me off since I’m based in the UK and don’t even bother with the lottery here. Definitely a dodgy scam, so steer clear of it.

Got a call claiming I’d somehow bagged second place in some lottery I never even signed up for - pretty sure it’s a dodgy scam.

It's clearly one of those lottery cons. I just don't get why the fraud unit never seems to crack down on these. Lately, I’ve been getting nearly 20 calls daily trying the same tricks. Surely, something has to be done? If they’re allowed to carry on, why don’t we just start doing it too? It’s wicked how these scammers keep getting away with it.

Over the past week, I've received three messages on my answerphone from an automated American woman's voice claiming to be from the US Lottery Centre. She said I hadn't replied to emails or calls (though I've received no emails at all) and that I had won £150,000 in the US Lottery. They urged me to call the number 0013157917400 immediately and quote my winning code 50586. I'm 77 years old and thankfully still clear-headed, but this is clearly a nasty scam. It really makes me angry that these awful fraudsters haven't been caught yet!

Some bloke just told me I won second place in the lottery or something, huh? Saying I’ve bagged £150,000? Why on earth are they saying pounds instead of dollars in America lol? Nope, total scam alert!

I already put this on a different website too. I never entered any US lottery and when I looked up the number, turns out it was definitely a scam like I thought. These folks should be exposed and taken to court for fraud. Watch out, the world is full of dodgy people. 🐅🦩

The message said they had supposedly already contacted me by phone and email about winning second place in some American lottery. They gave me a ticket number and told me to call a certain number to get my prize. Totally a scam, don’t believe it.

I received a rather peculiar message on my landline (which is rather amusing since international calls aren't permitted) claiming to be from the US Lottery Centre. Apparently, I have won a staggering £150,000! They even provided me with a ticket number and urged me to ring a specific number. Honestly, who are these people? It's utterly ludicrous to think you can win a lottery prize without actually purchasing a ticket!

My landline is blocked from making international calls, yet I received a voicemail claiming to be from the US Lottery centre saying I’d won £150,000. So this bloke called me back sayin I won £150,000 after I left a ticket number on my voicemail yesterday. He asked for my driving licence info, but I didn’t have it handy. Then he told me to ring him again at this number and ask for a Mike Shermah. Sounded a bit dodgy to me.

Got a call from an American woman’s pre-recorded message saying I’d bagged second prize in the US lottery - £150,000 - and to ring 0013157917400 with my prize reference. What’s dodgy is that the missed call on my phone came up as the legit UK lottery number. Definitely be careful with this one.
