got a call from some auto message claiming my national insurance number was at risk, it just kept going on like an alarm going off nonstop. hung up straight away and blocked the caller. watch out tho, they could ring from another number and you could accidentally get caught out.

Today I got a call from this number, it showed it was from the US! I don't know anyone over there and never been either, so I just ignored the call and blocked the number straight away.

I got a voicemail where the start was a bit fuzzy but it mentioned something to do with my national insurance number. They left a phone number 845-527-0378 to ring back and warned if I don't reply, there'd be serious legal trouble. They said this is my final warning about a big lawsuit, “once again, this message is for you”. The caller claimed to be officer Mike Wilson from HM Revenue and Customs. Finished with “goodbye and have a blessed day”. Honestly, I can see how some folks might panic and believe this rubbish.

I picked up and there was just silence from the other end, then the call got cut off after a few seconds.

They tried to get my bank info over the phone, which seemed really dodgy to me. Definitely a scam, so I didn’t give them anything. Watch out for those calls asking for your financial details!
