8 yearsI received a call from someone in India who insisted they had spotted a fault with my computer. What a bunch of charlatans! Clearly, they’re just attempting to pull a fast one on me.India10 yearsI got a call from this number earlier today but decided not to pick up. Honestly, I guess some folks are falling for it, or else they wouldn’t bother calling all the time!10 yearsi got a call from a young woman, sounded a bit nervous and had an asian accent. she said she was from some third party company working for microsoft. as usual, she told me to press the windows key plus r. when i said i did it, the screen "scam" appeared and she quickly hung up. makes me think about what kind of awful situations these callers must be in to keep doing this job. must not be easy at all.Microsoft10 yearsI got a call from a woman with an Asian accent claiming there was an issue with my computer. She asked me to turn it on so she could check my Windows ID. It seemed pretty obvious they wanted to get remote access to my PC, probably to install some useless software or worse, scam me out of money. When I asked where they’d got my number from, she was quite vague. Needless to say, I said no thanks and ended the call. Total scam, best to steer clear.10 yearsI kept waiting but no reply came through - total silence on the other end.10 yearsDefinitely a scammer, watch out!10 yearsThis is definitely a scam - if you search for "Microsoft Support scam" you'll see they are not the genuine article! They'll spin a yarn about viruses infesting your computer. Whatever you do, don't engage with them online - they're likely to 'remote' into your system and wreak havoc if you refuse to cough up any money. You should have a gander on YouTube; just type in "Microsoft scam" for some informative videos on the subject!Microsoft10 yearsI’ve been inundated with calls from some fraudulent outfit pretending to be Microsoft. Seriously, if you do a quick search online, you'll find all the details. These chaps aren’t affiliated with Microsoft at all; their aim is to squeeze money out of you and potentially ruin your computer in the process. There’s an excellent video by John Segura on YouTube where he documents the entire ordeal, and it’s very eye-opening. They keep ringing me repeatedly, and honestly, if you’re keen to waste their time, feel free to string them along. Just a word of caution: don't enter any details into your browser when they ask you to, as that could give them the means to take control of your computer and wreak havoc. This scam has been doing the rounds for ages and is utterly shameless. Don’t fret too much though; I can guarantee they'll be back for another go!MicrosoftJohn Segura10 yearsGot a call from someone claiming they could fix my computer problems. Occasionally, when I’m not busy, I like to pretend to be interested and keep the chat going, just to waste their time and stop them from trying it on with other folks who might fall for their lies. They target people who aren’t familiar with technology and everything they tell you is complete rubbish.10 yearsBack in March 2016, I got a call from a man with an Indian accent claiming there were serious problems with my laptop. I told him the only serious issue here was his dodgy call trying to scam me.
