Got a call from a guy with an Indian accent. Told him I was gonna email the new President Mr Trump to put them on the list of folks he plans to get rid of. Might work for anyone else getting these calls!

Got a call from a woman with an Indian accent, rambling about Windows and how to switch on my computer. I just chuckled and she told me not to laugh at her, idiot, then she abruptly ended the call. Pure scam for sure.

We have experienced early morning calls from this particular number, interrupting our sleep. The most recent occurrence was this morning, however, our answering machine picked up and they ended the call. Later in the day, I received another call (my phone didn't display the caller's information), and though I'm unsure if it was the same number, a man with an Asian accent attempted to sell me a product that supposedly prevents unwanted calls. When I informed him that I am registered with TPS and do not welcome unsolicited calls, he quickly ended the conversation and hung up. To deter those claiming to be from Microsoft, I've found that informing them that I don't own a computer really throws them off!

had a woman with an asian accent ring me today. i said i had 11 windows and she seemed confused. explained i got six windows at the front and five at the back, all openin and closin fine. also told her i dont own a computer.

This number keeps ringing me loads of times every day. They never bother leaving a voicemail, even though I let all calls marked as international go straight to my answerphone. I reckon it’s cheap for them to keep trying, but it must cost something. Plus, I get lots of calls from ‘number withheld’ folks claiming they want to discuss my TalkTalk account. Thing is, I don’t even have TalkTalk. I reported it to TalkTalk, who told me it’s a scam but couldn’t do much about it. I’m signed up with the TPS, but it doesn’t seem to make any difference.

This number gave me a ring, but I just didn’t pick up since it has called me a few times before. I usually don’t answer if the caller ID shows I’nt’l or it begins with 00.

Today at 8:30, I received another phone call from a number that is new and unwelcome to me. These continuous unsolicited calls have become quite bothersome. Consequently, we decided to purchase a call guardian phone. Now, when they call, the phone will only ring once before disconnecting them. This happens because the phone can identify that their number is not on my approved call list. It's much more efficient than relying solely on being ex-directory.

Got a call from this number at 10:39. It was an Asian woman speaking with a really bad accent. I only caught what she was saying because these muppets tried the same trick on us before. IT’S A SCAM for sure. They managed to con a good mate of ours who ended up handing over £150. Luckily her son is in IT and got in touch with the bank. After a long fight, they managed to stop the payment from going through. If more folks stood their ground like that, maybe these scammers would get the hint and stop getting paid.

Got a call today from 001274636633, the person said I had some issue with my Windows. I pretended not to know much and then asked where they were calling from. They said India. I just ended the call. Totally a scam!!!

Like others have said, these scammers ring non-stop, their auto dialler never stops buzzing. I just ignore it. Got another one really early this morning (Saturday). It's a shame some folks still get caught out by this trick.

Got a call from an Asian guy on 28th Sept claiming there was an issue with my computer. I nearly got caught, especially since I’d just bought a laptop. Told him to sod off and hung up straight away.

Got a call from them earlier, the person spoke with a strong asian accent, kept mumbling about some "wrong computer" and "technical services" stuff. I just went "Yeah, sure mate" and hung up. Tried ringing them back using Skype to check if anyone would pick up, but no luck at all.

Got a dodgy call claiming to be from Microsft, as soon as I said I’d do a line check to find their location, they ended the call sharpish.

The one time I did, it was a person with a strange foreign accent claiming my computer would shut down soon because my Microsoft licence needed renewing. They said the fee was £150 for a year. They even went on about how it would happen on any computer I moved to. It was pretty worrying, but I figured it was safer to just ignore the whole thing.

This was some dodgy Microsoft support scam. Microsoft would never ring you up out the blue. Just end the call straight away.

Got a call from some fake Microsoft Support claiming there were problems with the software on my PC. I told the bloke I work in IT so I doubted any issues. He then called me a complete idiot and just ended the call. Ridiculous behaviour.

SCAM ALERT! Someone rang me pretending to be from Windows support, saying they could sort out my issues if I let them connect remotely. Don’t fall for it!

Got a missed call while I was out, but no voicemail left. Really odd number: when I checked, the first part 001 could be from Hong Kong, Singapore or Thailand. Then the next digits 274 show up as the country code for Qatar. What's BT playing at? Are they handing out our phone numbers? Trying to get TPS involved is pointless too, they can't really block or report scam calls. I had a similar thing before with a number claiming to be BT - but it was just another con.

Some bloke said he was a Microsoft tech guy. I told him ‘nah you’re not’ and hung up straight away. The number kicked off with 00 instead of 0, but at first glance on my caller ID it looked like it could be a local UK number.

Lovely lady from Asia. Had a quick natter to get her started, then just put the phone down by the telly and let her yak away at the BBC for ages. Didn’t cost me a penny, but probably used up their minutes and stopped her pestering anyone else. Plus, might’ve helped her practise her English a bit.

Got a call from an Asian guy with a thick accent, claimed he was from Microsoft. I asked him to be clear about what was supposedly wrong with my computer. He said it was something with the internet and it had to be fixed immediately or my computer would be wrecked, like "far worse than a virus". I told him I didn't really get what he meant and he handed me over to another Asian guy who said pretty much the same thing. I then told him I suspected it was a scam and I wasn't interested in speaking to them any further.

This number just popped up on my caller ID, didn't pick up and blocked it right away. BT says numbers starting with 00 are usually scams.

I recently received a call from this number, which happened to be my first encounter with this type of scam known as fake tech support. The caller, who had an Asian accent, was insistent on me opening my PC and potentially granting them remote access to it. Needless to say, I was not about to let that happen. He was incredibly persistent, avoiding my questions and refusing to provide me with his phone number (which would have been useful with the *1471 feature). Additionally, he failed to provide any proof of his authenticity. Frustrated, he eventually gave up and ended the call. If you receive any calls from this number, be aware that they are attempting to scam you and it's best to hang up immediately. In fact, regardless of the caller's identity, unless they can demonstrate their genuineness, it is advisable to terminate the call if at all unsure.

Total scam from some tech support people. They try to trick you into letting them take over your computer remotely, and then everything can go wrong fast. Never, under any circumstances, do what they say and make sure your family and mates know this too.

Its the same scammers like others have said but i use a Bt8500 phone and ive put it on "Do Not Disturb" so they cant ring or leave any voicemail. Absolute bliss! These scammers should honestly be banned!

Got a call from a guy with an American accent claiming to be from tech support. Total scam. We just bought a tablet recently, so that felt fishy. Block the number on your phones, seriously.

When I noticed the number, I was curious who from the US might be ringing me, and it did sound like an overseas call when I picked up. Then an Asian lady came on, never giving her name, saying she was from Microsoft with issues on my computer. I twigged it was a scam straight away and just said, "oh right, cheers, bye" because I was keen to get back to a quiz I was listening to. If they ring back, I reckon I'll have a bit of fun and pretend my PC is busted!

Today I received a call from an individual claiming to be from 'Windows'. Suspicious of their intentions, I politely requested their name and contact number for authentication purposes. However, the caller became rather evasive and defensive. It became evidently clear that this was an attempted scam call.

Called my dad, claimed there was an issue with his windows and that they could sort it out. Complete scam, my dad only uses a Mac. Watch out for these!

Got a call early in the morning from a bloke with an Indian/Pakistani accent, just after 8. He claimed he was from Microsoft and said I had to fix an error message on my computer. I told him it wasn't possible since everyones still asleep, but he just didn’t listen. Dont be fooled by these lot, theyre just wastin your time - best thing to do is just hang up!

Got a call from some bloke claiming to fix my PC, sounded like he was from Asia or somewhere. Told him exactly what I thought in no uncertain terms!

I got a call from a lady with a thick foreign accent, probably Indian, and it was really tough to catch what she was saying. She said she was from the "Windows technical department" and that there was an issue with my PC. When I asked for details like where exactly she was calling from, company address, phone number, she said she was with Microsoft. But when I asked her to prove who she really was, she just went quiet. Pressed her a bit more, and she ended up laughing and hanging up. Seems to me she was trying to sneak into your computer to put some dodgy or harmful software on it.

Got a really persistent woman with an accent claiming to be from Microsoft. Said my PC was showing loads of error warnings. She wanted me to turn my computer on. When I asked for a phone number to call her back, she gave me 0800 588 1747, but it didn’t work. Total scam. Steer clear!

On 4/8/2016 it rang quite a bit before I finally answered, but no one was there.

Its the same trick with this woman, like everyone says Microsoft never charges you just to call them. If there’s a real issue, only the actual company can help once you tell them. I just tried calling that number again and it sounded like the line went dead.

Really rubbish try at a scam. Said something about a “Windows or computer issue” but they just dropped the call when I told them I was sat right at my PC.

Got a call from an Asian woman about some issue with my computer. I told her I wasn’t really catching what she was saying. She asked me to turn my computer on, and I said I’d do that. After that, I put her on hold. After a bit, she ended the call.

They tried to get into my computer but I told them it was a scam, then they said the call was costing me loads and just laughed. The phone wouldn’t disconnect, real unpleasant experience.
