5 yearsI looked it up here and it says it's a Microsoft scam. I didn’t pick up, and it showed as an international number.Microsoft10 yearsGot a call from a guy with an Indian accent. Told him I was gonna email the new President Mr Trump to put them on the list of folks he plans to get rid of. Might work for anyone else getting these calls!Trump10 yearsYou should defo report this pretend Microsoft firm to the ICO (Information Commissioner’s Office). They sound really legit but are just out here tricking people, especially those not great with tech, into handing over cash.Information CommissionerMicrosoft10 yearsThere was this bloke with a kinda Indian accent. I decided to humour him for a while. He kept asking what was showing up on my laptop screen. So I just said, ‘you’re chatting to an idiot’. He seemed a bit lost after that, so I just ended the call.10 yearsGot two calls from 001274636633 today, one from a man and one from a woman, both with Indian accents. They claimed there was something wrong with my windows but I told them they were installed by Everest so I'd ring them instead. Honestly, what a joke! They really need to find a proper job.Everest10 yearsI got a call from that number but there was complete silence when I answered.10 yearsThere are increasing complaints related to computers, specifically concerning modems. This appears to be a major scam, so it is crucial to remain vigilant.10 yearsGot a call from a woman with an Indian accent, rambling about Windows and how to switch on my computer. I just chuckled and she told me not to laugh at her, idiot, then she abruptly ended the call. Pure scam for sure.10 yearsWe have experienced early morning calls from this particular number, interrupting our sleep. The most recent occurrence was this morning, however, our answering machine picked up and they ended the call. Later in the day, I received another call (my phone didn't display the caller's information), and though I'm unsure if it was the same number, a man with an Asian accent attempted to sell me a product that supposedly prevents unwanted calls. When I informed him that I am registered with TPS and do not welcome unsolicited calls, he quickly ended the conversation and hung up. To deter those claiming to be from Microsoft, I've found that informing them that I don't own a computer really throws them off!TPSMicrosoft10 yearsGot a call from this number but didn’t pick up since it showed as an international call on my phone.10 yearsCalls from 08 50 daily, had to block this number now, cheers for the tip!10 yearshad a woman with an asian accent ring me today. i said i had 11 windows and she seemed confused. explained i got six windows at the front and five at the back, all openin and closin fine. also told her i dont own a computer.10 yearsThis morning, I managed to rouse the entire household with a call from this particular number. These wake-up calls have become quite frequent lately, and after reading comments regarding this number, I have made the decision not to answer anymore. There must be a solution to cease these bothersome and inconvenient callers!10 yearsThis number keeps ringing me loads of times every day. They never bother leaving a voicemail, even though I let all calls marked as international go straight to my answerphone. I reckon it’s cheap for them to keep trying, but it must cost something. Plus, I get lots of calls from ‘number withheld’ folks claiming they want to discuss my TalkTalk account. Thing is, I don’t even have TalkTalk. I reported it to TalkTalk, who told me it’s a scam but couldn’t do much about it. I’m signed up with the TPS, but it doesn’t seem to make any difference.TalkTalkTelephone Preference Service10 yearsI was hoping for a well-deserved lie-in, but I was awakened by this phone call. I've actually had a prior conversation with them - their demeanor was rather aggressive. I informed them that they were scammers, but apparently, that wasn't sufficient to get my name off their list.10 yearsGot a call from this number the other day. Answered it but there was complete silence on the other end. Tried saying hello a few times but then they just ended the call.10 yearsFor the past two weeks, these unwanted callers have been relentlessly phoning me at various times throughout the day. Whenever I inquire about their purpose, they either become argumentative or abruptly end the call. They claim to be from Microsoft, but their accents suggest otherwise - men and women with Asian sounding voices. It's absolutely infuriating to deal with them as they are clearly scammers who are determined to acquire personal information. I'm exhausted and frustrated with their constant harassment. It would be wonderful if there was a definitive solution to put an end to this nuisance.Microsoft10 yearsThis number gave me a ring, but I just didn’t pick up since it has called me a few times before. I usually don’t answer if the caller ID shows I’nt’l or it begins with 00.10 yearsToday at 8:30, I received another phone call from a number that is new and unwelcome to me. These continuous unsolicited calls have become quite bothersome. Consequently, we decided to purchase a call guardian phone. Now, when they call, the phone will only ring once before disconnecting them. This happens because the phone can identify that their number is not on my approved call list. It's much more efficient than relying solely on being ex-directory.10 yearsGot a call from this number at 10:39. It was an Asian woman speaking with a really bad accent. I only caught what she was saying because these muppets tried the same trick on us before. IT’S A SCAM for sure. They managed to con a good mate of ours who ended up handing over £150. Luckily her son is in IT and got in touch with the bank. After a long fight, they managed to stop the payment from going through. If more folks stood their ground like that, maybe these scammers would get the hint and stop getting paid.10 yearsGot a call today from 001274636633, the person said I had some issue with my Windows. I pretended not to know much and then asked where they were calling from. They said India. I just ended the call. Totally a scam!!!India10 yearsI got an unexpected call from this number, and there was a woman with an Asian accent insisting she was from Windows Technical Support. I mentioned that the connection was quite poor and I was struggling to hear her. Suddenly, she just cut off the call. Clearly, it seems like a scam to me!Windows Technical10 yearsLike others have said, these scammers ring non-stop, their auto dialler never stops buzzing. I just ignore it. Got another one really early this morning (Saturday). It's a shame some folks still get caught out by this trick.10 yearsGot a call from an Asian guy on 28th Sept claiming there was an issue with my computer. I nearly got caught, especially since I’d just bought a laptop. Told him to sod off and hung up straight away.10 yearsGot a call from them earlier, the person spoke with a strong asian accent, kept mumbling about some "wrong computer" and "technical services" stuff. I just went "Yeah, sure mate" and hung up. Tried ringing them back using Skype to check if anyone would pick up, but no luck at all.Skype10 yearsGot a dodgy call claiming to be from Microsft, as soon as I said I’d do a line check to find their location, they ended the call sharpish.Microsoft10 yearsGot a call from a woman with an Asian accent saying, "Hello, this is the Windows Technical Department." I cut her off straight away and said, "No thanks, I’m using a Mac," then hung up. Pretty sure it was a scam!Windows Technical Department10 yearsThis number keeps ringing me, but I just don’t pick up. The one time I did, it was a person with a strange foreign accent claiming my computer would shut down soon because my Microsoft licence needed renewing. They said the fee was £150 for a year. They even went on about how it would happen on any computer I moved to. It was pretty worrying, but I figured it was safer to just ignore the whole thing.Microsoft10 yearsMy phone buzzed at 08:55 but when I picked up, there was nobody there. I left the line open for about ten minutes just to make the telemarketer rack up charges.10 yearsGot a call from 001274636633 at around 08:55, but when I answered, there was no one there. Left the phone off the hook for a bit to try and rack up their call charges. Came back after ten minutes and finally hung up.10 yearsThis was some dodgy Microsoft support scam. Microsoft would never ring you up out the blue. Just end the call straight away.Microsoft10 yearsI didn't enjoy it at all and they started getting argumentative when I questioned them and referred to them as dishonest individuals involved in fraudulent activities.10 yearsGot a call from some fake Microsoft Support claiming there were problems with the software on my PC. I told the bloke I work in IT so I doubted any issues. He then called me a complete idiot and just ended the call. Ridiculous behaviour.Microsoft10 yearsSCAM ALERT! Someone rang me pretending to be from Windows support, saying they could sort out my issues if I let them connect remotely. Don’t fall for it!10 yearsI rang the number that showed up on my caller ID earlier today but there was no answer or voicemail.10 yearsGot a call from 001274636633 at about 9 this morning. A bloke with an Asian accent claimed he was from Windows and said there was an issue with my computer. I would've liked to waste his time but I was heading out, so I just told him I don’t own a computer and he just hung up. Shockin’, really!10 yearsThis number has been ringing me non-stop all week! I've tried telling them to take my number off their list since we belong to a firm with our own IT team, but they cut me off before I even finish speaking! I've had enough now, so I’m just going to stop picking up, or maybe just leave the phone off the hook, or even play a loud screech right into the receiver!!!10 yearsReceived a call this morning at 9 o'clock from a number that had been rerouted through a local exchange. The person on the other end spouted off some nonsense about Windows contacting me regarding error alerts on my device, which struck me as rather dubious, especially echoing sentiments I've heard before from others. I queried how on earth Windows would even know I was using my computer at that moment (which, for the record, I actually was). He urged me to press the key next to the Control key, but instinct told me to end the conversation. I've had my fair share of these dodgy calls before, and it's evident they tend to target those who are a bit older. I didn’t want to fall for this trickery, so I simply hung up.10 yearsMy phone is always with me, day and night. However, I choose not to answer every call I receive as I have an answering machine. If someone I know leaves a message, I will promptly respond. But if it's a unfamiliar number or someone I don't recognize, I tend to ignore them. They are simply bothersome pests!10 yearsJust like others, got a call from a woman with an Asian accent. I kept her chatting for a few mins until she caught on that I wasn’t interested. Maybe next time I'll ask her to do my windows again, but properly this time 'cause they were left all streaky!10 yearsGot a missed call while I was out, but no voicemail left. Really odd number: when I checked, the first part 001 could be from Hong Kong, Singapore or Thailand. Then the next digits 274 show up as the country code for Qatar. What's BT playing at? Are they handing out our phone numbers? Trying to get TPS involved is pointless too, they can't really block or report scam calls. I had a similar thing before with a number claiming to be BT - but it was just another con.Hong KongSingaporeThailandQatarBTTPS10 yearsSome bloke said he was a Microsoft tech guy. I told him ‘nah you’re not’ and hung up straight away. The number kicked off with 00 instead of 0, but at first glance on my caller ID it looked like it could be a local UK number.Microsoft10 yearsGot a call from an Indian woman claiming she was from 'Microsoft Windows'. BT and Microsoft need to do something about these fraudsters, it’s been happening for far too long now.MicrosoftBT10 yearsHi there, I got a call from someone asking about my Windows PC? I told them I don't own one, and the person just hung up straightaway. It really sounded like an Indian call centre? I've blocked the number now. Definitely scammers.10 yearsLovely lady from Asia. Had a quick natter to get her started, then just put the phone down by the telly and let her yak away at the BBC for ages. Didn’t cost me a penny, but probably used up their minutes and stopped her pestering anyone else. Plus, might’ve helped her practise her English a bit.BBC10 yearsGot a call from an Asian guy with a thick accent, claimed he was from Microsoft. I asked him to be clear about what was supposedly wrong with my computer. He said it was something with the internet and it had to be fixed immediately or my computer would be wrecked, like "far worse than a virus". I told him I didn't really get what he meant and he handed me over to another Asian guy who said pretty much the same thing. I then told him I suspected it was a scam and I wasn't interested in speaking to them any further.Microsoft10 yearsIf you got this dodgy call, make sure to let Microsoft know by using their "Report a scam" page:- [#]support.microsoft[###]Microsoft10 yearsAh, another one of those fake Microsoft calls trying to rip you off. Perhaps a drone could swoop in and sort them out once and for all! Honestly, it seems like we might have to resort to such measures given the state of the authorities across the pond.10 yearsJot down the number so next time it rings you’ll recognise it, and pick up. It’s Birmingham Police station, asking if they can assist you.Birmingham PoliceStation10 yearsGot a call from an Asian lady claiming she was with Windows tech support. I just cut her off straight away. Had a couple of those annoying scam calls like this before, just a waste of time.10 yearsI recently received a call from this number, which happened to be my first encounter with this type of scam known as fake tech support. The caller, who had an Asian accent, was insistent on me opening my PC and potentially granting them remote access to it. Needless to say, I was not about to let that happen. He was incredibly persistent, avoiding my questions and refusing to provide me with his phone number (which would have been useful with the *1471 feature). Additionally, he failed to provide any proof of his authenticity. Frustrated, he eventually gave up and ended the call. If you receive any calls from this number, be aware that they are attempting to scam you and it's best to hang up immediately. In fact, regardless of the caller's identity, unless they can demonstrate their genuineness, it is advisable to terminate the call if at all unsure.10 yearsTotal scam from some tech support people. They try to trick you into letting them take over your computer remotely, and then everything can go wrong fast. Never, under any circumstances, do what they say and make sure your family and mates know this too.10 yearsHad a bit of fun with this one, kept chatting to him for a solid 5 minutes before finally admitting my 'broken' computer wasnt even turned on. Proper sport!10 yearsI really appreciate the phone call I received at 7:30 am during the summer break. It was an Asian lady on the line informing me about a virus on my computer. I ended the call right away. I would have loved to go back to sleep, but unfortunately, by then, everyone in the house was already awake and annoyed. 😠😠😠10 yearsIts the same scammers like others have said but i use a Bt8500 phone and ive put it on "Do Not Disturb" so they cant ring or leave any voicemail. Absolute bliss! These scammers should honestly be banned!10 yearsI got a call from a woman talking with a weird accent, just hung up straight away. Totally sounded like a scam.10 yearsMy mates all know I don’t pick up calls from unknown numbers, so I just let it ring out and then looked to see if there was a voicemail - which my friends usually leave. Not surprised, there wasn’t any. I’ve set it to a silent ringtone now, so if it rings again (especially when I’m still half asleep in the morning!) I won’t accidentally answer it.10 yearsGot a call from a guy with an American accent claiming to be from tech support. Total scam. We just bought a tablet recently, so that felt fishy. Block the number on your phones, seriously.10 yearsWhen I noticed the number, I was curious who from the US might be ringing me, and it did sound like an overseas call when I picked up. Then an Asian lady came on, never giving her name, saying she was from Microsoft with issues on my computer. I twigged it was a scam straight away and just said, "oh right, cheers, bye" because I was keen to get back to a quiz I was listening to. However, when I confronted the caller's behaviour and expressed my dissatisfaction, their response was extremely impolite, leading me to hang up the call. Today, at 09:38 on the 12th of August 2016, a man with a noticeably strong Asian accent contacted me. I decided to inform him that my conversations were being monitored by the police.
