Surely, there are still some folks out there who pick up without verifying who’s on the line first! Oh, and whilst we're on the subject, I’m quite weary of those incessant messages targeting people on benefits. I received a rather peculiar call about a supposed government grant, and the voice on the other end was rather whimsical, almost like a character out of a fairy tale. Upon realising it was some sort of scam, I took matters into my own hands and let out a loud whistle into the phone. That did the trick and sent them packing in no time! I've since added the number to my block list.

Some bloke rang me claiming he was from a firm sorting out government grants for energy-saving, without even checking if I owned the house or anything. When I asked who he was or the company’s name, he just refused to tell me. I mentioned it was a harassing cold call and that I’d be making a complaint, so he just threw some OFGEM number at me and said to take it up with them about the grants. Honestly, this guy was a proper rude tosser and even started swearing at me. I’ve reported him and the whole shebang, no doubt.

Got a random call earlier about some Government Grants for changing boilers. I told the bloke I’m on the TPS list so he shouldn’t be ringing me. He got pretty rude and started arguing, saying something like, “You can’t stop me, what are you gonna do about it?” I’ve reported him to the TPS and would say others should too. They actually take action when enough folks make complaints.

Picked up the phone and was met with a prolonged silence, before a female voice chimed in with a curt "Goodbye". Definitely seems like a bother or perhaps a phishing attempt to verify whether our number is active. Whatever the case, if you’ve got caller ID, it’s best not to engage and simply block the number.
