This was the first time I'd got a recorded message like this - it claimed to be from HMRC and said I had some legal action pending. They gave me a different number to ring back on. I just ended the call straight away. It does sound a bit unsettling, but I'm pretty sure HMRC normally send letters and wouldn't use recorded calls, especially not with a kind of American-sounding voice!
