Just tell them you’ll have to transfer the call to your manager who'll sort it out, sorry for the wait since the technician's still making their way over from the other place. Mention you hope they’re not on commission 'cause this chat must be wrecking their sales figures. After a bit, say the supervisor or tech has arrived but they’re trying to find their pen, some paper, and their specs. “Hello? Anyone there?” And then, of course, they’ve gone and hung up. Typical.

Got a call from this number twice. When I picked up the second time, all I could hear was some faint music in the background - I quickly hung up.

It’s probably a phone scam, best thing to do is just not pick up or hang up straight away if you do.

I've been getting calls non stop from someone with a really strong foreign accent. When I told them I don’t have any issues with my laptop or computer and asked them to quit calling, they just cut me off straight away. It’s been bothering me day and night.

Got a call from a bloke with an accent saying he was from Windows about some computer issue - just hung up straight away.

Got a call from someone claiming to be from tech support, said my computer was infected. I told them to stop, but they kept going on, so I just hung up sharpish. Definitely a scam, watch out!

I got a call where the person didn’t say a word. Before that, I had a call from a woman with a Filipino accent telling me there was something wrong with my computer or something like that. Just ignore and end any call (or email) that says you owe money to Bank of Scotland. If you want to, hit ‘reply all’ and send the message straight to ‘phishing@natwest’ - they look into these bank scams. Other banks also have their own teams dealing with phishing and fraud, so they’ll check out any dodgy calls for you.

Got a call from someone saying they were with Windows, but it was obviously a tech scam. They tried to trick me into giving them remote access. Total rubbish, be careful!
