Somebody rang claiming to be from Microsoft, telling me my computer - which I wasn’t even close to - was sending data worldwide! When I said I didn’t really know when I’d use it next, he didn’t seem too pleased. I asked him what exactly I needed to check or do, and he just got really annoyed. Then he started shouting because I wasn’t fussed and said I’d deal with it later. I ended up hanging up on him. It’s a relief to find this site and see others have had similar experiences!

At about 9 in the morning, I got a call from this number. Some bloke called “John” said he was calling from Windows and claimed my computer was being hacked. He tried to get me to switch my computer on right away so he could show me where the problem was. When I said no way, he threatened to send a report to the Windows HQ, saying I’d never be able to use my PC again. Obviously, total rubbish!

Just got a dodgy call, sounded like a total scam. Don't trust it at all.

Got a call at half past eight today, and right away I was uneasy because calls that early usually mean bad news about someone in the family. The person on the line claimed that my computer was hacked and said he'd fix it if I let him access it. When I mentioned that the individual he named had never lived here, he snapped at me, getting really nasty and asking how I could be so sure. Truth is, the person he mentioned has been dead for ages. I just hung up on him.

They just called me but as soon as I picked up the line went silent. I’ve noticed that picking up the phone and dragging out the conversation really helps in putting a stop to their calls in the long run. I usually just say ‘yeah’ to everything they ask, unless they throw a question that can’t be answered with a simple yes (though I try to stick to it!). It’s actually quite entertaining and you’d be surprised how long you can keep someone on the line by just replying ‘yeah’!

She rang me up stating something about my computer, but I didn’t give her a moment to continue. I jumped in with, “Oh really, and what nonsense are you trying to peddle?” At that point, she hung up on me. I've added that number to my block list!

A woman called me at precisely 7:34 on Saturday morning, and I was so taken aback that I yelled at her before abruptly ending the call.

had a call really early this morning, like about 6:50 am, some bloke said he was from 'windows'. He was banging on about how there'd been attempts to hack into my pc whenever i got online and was pushing me to switch it on straight away. I didn’t give in, just let him keep talking while i dragged it out. figured wasting their time a bit was a bit of harmless fun.

Got a call about some computer issue, sounded like a scam. They were trying to either get me to let them into my computer or trick me into paying for a fake “repair”. Watch out, it’s not legit.

No clue who it is but they hang up straight away. This number calls me loads every day, sometimes once, other times a few times back to back. It’s really irritating, feels like harassment honestly - just a pointless hassle that wastes my time and money.

Received a call from this number at precisely 12:09 GMT on the 29th of January, 2016. When I picked up, there was a rather peculiar moment of silence lasting around five seconds, followed by someone simply saying ‘goodbye’ before disconnecting. Quite bizarre, indeed!

I received a call from what sounded like a woman with a thick foreign accent, claiming my computer was infected with a virus. I entertained the nonsense for a bit, but then I couldn't be bothered to keep the charade going, so I ended the call. It's rather peculiar that they masked their number, though it's clear the ID is dodgy.

A lady was attempting to persuade me to log onto my computer, claiming she was with Microsoft Windows, so she could infiltrate my system. Strangely enough, she correctly mentioned my name and address, suggesting she's pulled some details from an outdated database somewhere. Quite alarming, to say the least!

I received a call from a girl with an Asian accent who asked us to modify our laptop in some way. Clearly, it was a scam - and not a very clever one, if I'm honest.
