got this call too, definitely a scam, best not to answer back.

i wouldnt call back, this reeks of a scam. they just leave these voicemail messages with some recorded voice, which is suspicious. real customs and excise would never send such scary messages like that! if they did leave a message, they’d probably say your name properly. kinda worrying that some folks actually phoned back, must be exactly what these scammers are hoping for, probably with crazy fees.

I got a voicemail from some recorded message saying I need to ring them right away to dodge a pricey lawsuit or something from the HM Revenue and Customs. It sounded a bit dodgy to me.

Got a voicemail from this number which said the same as before. Honestly, I’d appreciate it if they didn’t ring me again.

Today at about 1:04pm I got a call from +1226697940 which seems to be from abroad. Tried ringing back but nobody picked up. The message was something about legal problems connected to customs, claiming someone at my address owes a big debt. I'm on disability pension and these calls really frighten me, hate getting this sort of thing.

I received a call from this number, purporting to be Officer Lisa Williams from HMRC. The voice sounded oddly mechanical and insisted that I return the call immediately concerning an urgent legal issue, warning of grave repercussions if I failed to comply. It's worth noting that this is a common intimidation scam; they used to operate with the number 01322750780-I'd recommend doing a quick search on that one for additional details!

Got a call saying there’s some legal trouble with me and they wanted me to ring HM Revenue and Customs on that number. It sounded dodgy, especially since the number was from the US, which just made it even more suspicious. Feels like a scam to me.
