I kept getting calls claiming to be from Windows, obviously dodgy. I told them straight up I knew it was a scam and then they just hung up on me. Lately, these calls have been coming in the middle of the night with no one answering, but they still won't stop ringing. Proper annoying.

I’m so fed up with these calls, they just add to my stress. The bloke on the phone, with a funny accent, starts right away saying my name’s George. I’m 80 years old and can spot a scam a mile off, but it’s worrying thinking about folks who get confused or have memory problems - they could easily fall for it. When will this nonsense finally end?

Totally a scam! Got a call at work from a guy with an Indian accent saying he was from IT (which is exactly where I work). He asked if I owned the computer. I work right next to our actual Service Desk and could see it wasn't anyone from there. When I asked which company he was from, he just said IT again and then ended the call. These scammers seriously need to find legit jobs instead of bothering people like this.

Just received a voice message that landed in our voicemail box. It was a bit alarming - essentially stating that this was our last chance. The message urged us to hit 1 on our phone to chat with a real person about reducing our interest rates, or we could press 3 to stop all future notifications. If anyone has a clue what on earth this was about, we’d appreciate it if you could drop us a line on our Hotmail (provided above). Cheers!

This is now the fourth morning running they ring up at 8.50am, mostly some bloke who calls himself 'John' and sounds Asian. One time he said he was from Talktalk. I told him I ain’t got no computer or laptop to stop him moaning, but he kept pushing anyway. Told him to bugger off! Eventually found out how to block the number from Talktalk's site and did it.

I just gave this 'Windows' bloke the full runaround. Pretended I had no clue what I was doing, calling my monitor a telly and my keyboard a 'typing thing'. I totally misunderstood everything he asked for, said I couldn’t find any of the stuff he mentioned, and really got on his nerves until he was nearly swearing at me. I ended the long, annoying chat by saying I’m actually on a Mac and told him and his mates to do one. Give it a go, it’s quite fun and they definitely won’t be knocking on your door afterwards :>)

This number has called me twice now. Both times no one said anything, so I just ended the call. I figured it might be one of those automated calls. If it calls again, I’m just gonna ignore it. The first call was at 8 in the morning and the second about half past eight, so I got a bit worried something might be wrong with my family.

This number has been ringing me a bunch lately. Just last week, some bloke with an Asian accent called and said his name was Steve or something like that? I told him straight up I knew it was a scam and ended the call. Then early this morning, a different guy, also Asian, said his name was Jack. I told him to stop wasting his time trying to scam me, and he just hung up. Honestly, calling them out like that really does the trick.

This number has called me 4 times in just two days. I’ve got an Apple, so I don’t use Windows at all, so it makes no sense why Microsoft or Windows would be ringing me. It’s a known scam where the “friendly” guy tries to charge you and then remotely gets into your computer to nick passwords, codes and stuff.

001212121212 - TOTAL SCAM!!! Told them I was tied up and asked if I could ring back later when it suited me better. The guy with an Asian accent on the line said he'd ring me again. I asked for a number to call them back but he just abruptly ended the call. This is like the 6th or 7th time I've gotten a call from the so-called 'Windows tech team' in just two weeks, it's seriously getting on my nerves!!!

Even as a company with an IT team, we still get these annoying calls claiming there’s something wrong with Microsoft Windows. The people calling sound like they’re calling from abroad, often with a strong Asian accent, and they don’t take no for an answer easily. After I kept grilling the guy with loads of questions, he finally gave up and ended the call.

This number has been ringing me loads over the past few days and I finally picked up yesterday. The bloke said he was from Windows Tech Support and claimed my computer had a virus. I asked him how he knew that and he said he’d seen me logging in. When I questioned if making stuff up was something he’d practiced or just came naturally, he insisted he wasn’t lying and was trying to help. I told him hacking’s illegal and that I was reporting him to the police. He then threatened to keep calling if I didn’t do what he said and ended the call straight away.

Right at the start he asked me to switch on my computer, I told him it was already on (which it wasnt), then he told me to hit the Windows key and the R key together, after that he said to type "eventvwr" in the box that popped up and press OK. He asked me what showed up next and I just guessed 'Event Viewer', which turned out to be correct. But when he wanted to know the options underneath "event viewer local" I had no clue, and then suddenly I got booted out of the call.

SCAM ALERT. This number keeps popping up on my missed calls while I’m working nights. Today I answered and an Asian guy was on the line talking about my computer. I pretended I wasn’t interested in buying anything, but he said he wasn’t trying to sell me anything. He claimed he was calling to help fix a tech issue. When I told him I didn’t have a PC (which I actually do), he just hung up suddenly. Definitely dodgy.

No one said a word when I picked up. Really curious how they got hold of our landline number since it’s completely new and hasn’t been shared with anyone. The only explanation I can think of is that BT or Sky have sold the number, even though SSC just set up the line a week ago.

I only noticed the calls because they showed up on my call log, but I blocked the number after coming home a few days ago and seeing it had rung about 10 times within an hour while I was out. I figured it was just some annoying person, and reading other comments here makes me think I’m not the only one dealing with this rubbish.

001212121212 rang me and some Asian person answered with an English name, like they usually do. They said they were from Windows, calling from London about the ninth time now. I just kept chatting to them, then they asked how old I was and if I spoke any language other than English, like Italian. I’m well aware they’re scammers but I enjoy messing about with them.

Got a call from this number (001212121212) and it was an Asian bloke asking if I had Windows. I just told him I live in a wigwam, hehe, and then I ended the call.

This number rang me 22 times all day, starting just after seven in the morning. I never picked up since I was tied up and the number didn’t look familiar at all. They didn’t bother to leave any voicemail either. I’m now deciding I won’t answer calls from numbers I don’t know unless they leave a clear message about who they are and why they’re calling.

Some bloke from Asia called me saying my computer's got a virus. I just told him to get lost and shoved him right back to where he came from.

Got a call from a guy with an Asian accent claiming to be from Windows support. Seemed a bit dodgy to me.

Some guy with an Asian accent called pretending to be from Windows Support, telling me I’d got a malware virus on my PC. I had an absolute blast messing about with him for half an hour. Eventually, he asked, ‘What’s showing on your screen now?’ so I told him, ‘Hello, I’m Cortana, how can I assist you today?’ You should’ve heard the angry rant that came after! Totally worth it though, haven’t laughed that hard in ages.

Since 12/04/16 they've been calling around every 20 minutes, we picked up once and it was an Asian guy saying the same thing. He sounded rude. We've had to disconnect our phone now because of the harassment. BT won't do anything unless we PAY them!!

It all began on 12/04/16, calls coming through every 20 mins. We picked up once and some asian guy were saying the same thing, sounded rude. We've gone and disconnected the phone now, it's proper harassment. BT will only sort it if we cough up though.

Some guy named Steve, claiming to be from the Windows Tech Support team in All Don, rang me up. I told him I don’t have Windows on my computer at all, but he kept going on like I or someone in my house must have it. When I kept saying no, he just cut the call. Seems like a total con to me. Fingers crossed he doesn't give me another ring.

Had a rather pushy bloke with an asian accent claiming my computer was infected with malware. He said he worked for the windows support team and could sort it, but when i told him my antivirus was really strong he insisted it wasn’t enough because he could see malware. I told him i wasn't interested and he said he’d ring me again. I ended the call.

He claimed to be from Microsoft saying there was an issue with my PC. I told him straight up he was a scammer and that folks like him really get on my nerves. Not surprising, he quickly ended the call.

Some idiot called me saying my computer was infected with a bunch of viruses. I told him I wasn’t daft. He then claimed he was from Windows tech support. I said there’s no way I’m letting some random bloke on the phone have remote access to my machine to nick my bank info, so I told him to jog on and hung up. Honestly, anyone who falls for that must be quite gullible. My antivirus is fully updated, and luckily I’ve got a mate who knows his stuff if anything ever goes wrong.

Got a ring earlier today from someone saying they were from Windows tech support, but I just ended the call straight away. Microsoft has already made it clear that their tech support doesn't phone you out of the blue unless you've set up a call with them.

He kept calling, going on about my computer having a virus, but I refused to power it on. After I said no and ended the call, he phoned back three times, repeating the same story. I warned him that if he tried ringing again, I'd report him to the cops for pestering me, then he finally stopped calling.

They called me a couple of times and then just dropped the call. When I picked up the third time, the guy asked if I had windows. I told him no, not in my home. Then he quickly switched to asking about a computer, but I told him I don’t own one and ended the call.

This number kept calling me quite a few times, saying there was some big issue with my Windows and a serious virus. The guy wanted me to get on my laptop so he could guide me through fixing it. I was busy and told him I couldn’t do it then, and he said he’d ring back later. I’m really relieved I came across these comments here because who knows what kind of mess I might’ve gotten myself into. He’s still calling, the bloke sounds Asian. Anne.

My mum got a call from this number earlier today (09/03/2016) and they were saying the same old rubbish as others mentioned here. It's bizarre how they got hold of an elderly person’s phone number, especially when it’s only for emergencies. Honestly, I hope I never pick up if it rings again - the caller would be in for a nasty surprise once I activate my personal alarm!

This number rang me earlier, around 8:37 in the morning. When I picked up, they just dropped the call straight away. If I manage to figure out where they’re calling from, I’m thinking of paying them a visit, and it won’t be a friendly one.

For the past few days, this number has been calling my home phone multiple times, sometimes as early as 7 in the morning! A guy with an Asian accent says he’s calling from Microsoft and that there’s a problem with my laptop. Total con, no doubt. Even though I’ve blocked the number, it keeps bothering me non-stop!

This morning about 7:50, I received a call from a guy who sounded like he was from India, and he started telling me to do some really inappropriate stuff. I’m absolutely fuming about it. What if my kids had picked up the phone instead? That’s just not on.

Got a call from some bloke bright and early at 7am saying there was an issue with my PC and that if I turned it on, he could help me sort it out. Told him straight away I don’t even own a computer, but he kept banging on about how my number was supposedly online yesterday. Really makes me question if TalkTalk might be behind some dodgy scam.

This number keeps ringing me, just missed a call from it at 7:12 this morning. When I looked up who it was, it turned out to be the same one again. Like others have said, when you answer there’s either no one on the line or, if there’s a voicemail, it’s just a quick goodbye. It’s really frustrating - how do they even get hold of our numbers?

Got a call earlier from some bloke claiming my computer was full of viruses or something, all a bit hard to follow with his accent. I told him I’d just pop it into a shop and get it sorted there. He seemed annoyed and said those shops don't fix computers, just sell them - yeah right. After a bit of back and forth, I just hung up. The bloke rang straight back, but I ignored it. Then he rang once more, so I picked up and told him loudly to leave me be. Since then, I've noticed a couple more missed calls from the same number while I was out. Not sure what they’re after though, he never really explained anything properly.

I received a call at 6:58am that jolted me awake. The only reason I’d expect a call at such an ungodly hour would be due to some family crisis. Thankfully, there was silence on the other end; otherwise, they would’ve been on the receiving end of my frustration! Just infuriating, to say the least.

Got a call at 6.58am and no one said a word. Nearly had a heart attack since the only reason I'd expect someone to call that early is if something was wrong with family. These calls are such a pain in the neck.

Got a call from this number today (17th Dec) at 6.54 in the morning! They just hung up without saying anything! Proper annoying, especially so early when we’ve got older family members around - you worry something serious might be up.

Got a call from this number really early, like 5.50am on the 15th Dec. I've got this device that reads out who's calling, and the number sounded kinda sus, so I ignored it. Later, I checked my voicemail just to be sure, and guess what? It was just a message saying "Goodbye"! Proper annoying, honestly.

Once more, I received a call from an Asian gentleman insisting he'd been trying to alert me for weeks about supposed issues with my computer running slowly. I firmly told him that my brand-new computer was working perfectly fine and mentioned that my husband is a computer expert. I asked him kindly to refrain from calling again. His reaction was quite something! He gasped, “You have a computer expert at home?” and then abruptly ended the call. Quite absurd, really!
