Honestly, no clue if I messed anything up by doing that. Has anyone else had a bad run-in with these calls?8 yearsThis number has rung me a couple times, always with that international 001 prefix. When I pick up, there’s a short pause and then it just hangs up - pretty obvious it's some automated system trying to see if someone’s there. If they get an answer, I’m sure they’ll flag the number and soon I’ll be getting loads of calls from scammers pretending to be from HMRC demanding tax payments, or from fake ‘technical support’ for BT, Talk Talk, Virgin Media, or Sky, all trying to mess with my broadband router.
