My mum got caught up in what was clearly a share scam. They spun some tale about British Airways shares she supposedly owned, which she definitely doesn’t. They even got her to sign and send back a non-disclosure agreement. After that, the calls kept coming, with emails about needing to buy a 10% insurance bond if she wanted to cash out £40,000 worth of shares that don’t exist. Utter madness, honestly! Thankfully, the whole thing was recorded - here's the clip revealing the scammer in action: https://t[.]me/sovereigntea123/617

Some bloke from India rang me and wanted to speak to me by name, which I didn’t really acknowledge. He then claimed to be calling on behalf of a company that was buying out BAe Systems and was interested in purchasing shares. I couldn’t help but chuckle a bit before telling him he was definitely pulling my leg and this was total rubbish. He just wished me a good day and ended the call.

I got a call from a woman who said her name was Rose Parker and claimed she works at Hertz and Wagner in New York. She was interested in buying my stagecoach shares at four times their worth, supposedly for a hostile takeover. The thing is, I sold those shares about ten years ago. She asked me to email her agreeing not to share any details. The email looked like it came from the Hertz and Wagner website, but something felt off. I’m pretty sure it’s a scam, and maybe that website isn’t legit at all.

Some bloke called Alex gave me a ring, sounded a bit dodgy if I’m honest. He was on about buying my mum’s National Grid shares or something. It just didn’t feel right, so I had a quick look-up here to check. He was saying he’d pay way more than the shares are actually worth, which made me even more suspicious. I messed around keeping him chatting while I typed this out. 100% a scam if you ask me!

0012085040001 gave me a ring at about 7:25 pm here in the UK. The woman claimed to be from Centrica Shares and wanted to speak to my husband - she even knew his name, which was a bit impressive. I told my husband about it and he said we should ask them to send an email instead. When I questioned how we could be sure this wasn’t a scam, she said if she had my details she’d send an email. I asked her to send one anyway and when she asked for our email address, I told her that if she was legit, she’d already have it. Then she just hung up.

Got a call on my landline from someone trying to get me by a really messed up version of my name - which is always a red flag, but kind of creepy they had any name info at all. The bloke rattled off his name and the reason for calling so fast I couldn’t make out a word. I asked him to slow down and talk properly, then he said his name again, but when I said I didn’t recognise it and asked which company he was from, he just hung up straightaway.
