I reckon anyone getting those annoying calls should fill in a complaint form on the ICO website at www.ico.org.uk. It doesn’t take long, and they’re able to do something about the companies sending those pestering calls.

Got a call from this international number pretending to offer insurance advice for about 15 minutes. The guy calling himself "Ronnie" was blatantly fibbing and even told me what to say to the solicitor about neck pains, even if I didn’t have any! When I called him out, he ended the call with "Ahh, F--- You, Mother F----er." Honestly, that’s just awful customer service, Ronnie - very disappointing.

Called me up twice claiming I could get some payout for a crash I was never involved in. When I said I hadn’t been in any accident, the guy actually suggested I should smash my car into a lamppost with my whole family inside. Kept going on about how I’d still get compensation even if nobody got hurt. Complete madness.

Today this number called me three times. The first two calls were silent aside from some clicking and background noise when I picked up. On the third ring, a man with a thick Indian or Pakistani accent spoke. When I asked where he was calling from, he said London and mentioned it was regarding an accident claim. Then when I asked what number he was calling from, he just repeated my own number to me. I questioned him further and then he abruptly ended the call.

Got a call from someone claiming to be with some accident support service. I immediately suspected it was a scam and ended the call. Then I got four more calls in the next 30 minutes. Got loads of calls from this number within an hour. At first, it was some supposed accident question from someone with an Indian accent. Knowing it was probably a scam, I just cut the call straight away. Then a bunch of silent calls came through afterwards. I use a BT phone with a block feature for nuisance calls, but you need to have Caller Display turned on by your phone company first. All providers (I'm with Sky) offer this, and you can get it switched on for free in under a day!
