They’ve phoned me 3 times now with the exact same message and voice, so I’m gonna report it to BT’s spam service and block it on my phone. If anyone else gets these calls from this number, I’d recommend you do the same.

Like plenty of others have said, this was clearly one of those Visa scams. I didn’t even want to risk hitting 1 since my landline isn’t linked to my bank, only my mobile is. Besides, I always double-check my bank balance online before doing anything. The call came from a very articulate English-sounding woman’s recorded message, urging me to press 1 straight away. I just hung up without responding.

Got a suspicious call from someone in Egypt saying there was a big charge on my Visa card, the voice was some automated lady. Best thing to do is just hang up and not responde. Once they got my number, they kept calling from different numbers trying the same trick. I’d recommend blocking any calls like that straight away.
