My mum’s just been phoned after 8pm by this number, and they were going on about arresting her. She was so frightened, absolutely shook up. Honestly, if I ever found these scoundrels, I’d sort them out proper.

Got this automated call saying I owed some unpaid tax and to ring 1174090199 or else I’d get arrested. They kept ringing non-stop for like 30 minutes straight until I finally just unplugged the phone!

Got a call from someone saying I’d be arrested for not paying tax. I just laughed it off because it was so blatantly a scam. My elderly neighbour, though, might have been terrified if she’d picked up. Absolutely no plans to call the number back, but surely the authorities can track these dodgy callers and give them a good telling-off?

Got a message with a sort of Welsh lilt, sounded a bit dodgy. It said it was the last warning about unpaid taxes and provided a number, 1174090199, supposedly from HMRC. They threatened that if I didn't respond, I'd get arrested. Then it just ended with a brusque goodbye. Felt like a total scam to me.

I’ve got one of those automated calls again, saying I’m gonna be arrested for not paying my taxes. This is like the fourth time in a few weeks I’ve had it, really annoying.

Got a robo call telling me it was the final warning about some unpaid debts with hmre and if we don’t sort it out we’ll get arrested straight away, no more chances. They said to call back on 01174090199. Totally sounded dodgy so I just hung up. Definitely a scam.

Got a voicemail from HMRC saying I needed to call straight back or I’d get arrested. Sounds like a well-known scam to me.

someone called saying they were from hmrc but it was definitely a scam. be careful!
