7 yearsGot a call from someone claiming to be BT, warning me my internet connection would be cut off soon. Total scam, don’t fall for it!BT7 yearsThis is a scam, hands down. The number looks like a US number but it’s dodgy - real US numbers coming to the UK usually start with 001 and then have the full 10 digits. If you get a call that starts 001 but has fewer digits after, it’s a total fake, probably trying to trick you into thinking it’s a UK number or something. Watch out for these fake formats!USUK7 yearsThat number started with 0011 which isn’t how usual numbers begin, so it’s clearly a dodgy scam trying to trick people.7 yearsGot a call claiming to be from BT about an issue with my internet. Total scam, of course.BT7 yearsGot a voicemail from someone claiming to be from the BT tech team warning me they’d cut off my service unless I pressed 1 to sort it out or something. Total scam, I reckon.BT Technical Department7 yearsGot three calls from them in just a couple of days, totally feel like a scam.7 yearsI got a call claiming to be from BT telling me my line was about to be cut off starting today. I just told them thanks but no thanks and ended the call. Funny thing is, I don’t even use BT anymore!BT7 yearsI received a rather similar call at 10:31 this morning, 6th March 2019. This time, it was a different number but the same American woman’s voice claiming to represent BT. She warned me that my phone and internet would be disconnected unless I pressed 1 to speak with someone at BT, or 2 to keep my internet service running. Naturally, I chose to hang up. Just had a chat with a mate nearby, and she experienced the same intrusive call this morning. Both of us are in our seventies and thankfully still possess the discernment to recognise this as a likely scam. However, given that we live alone, it’s unsettling; the manner of speech is rather aggressive, leaving one feeling quite anxious and on edge.BT7 yearsGot a robot call saying it was BT, asking me to press 1 to keep my line active or 2 to hang up. Felt kinda dodgy to me.BT7 yearsJust a short while ago, I got a call from this number but no one spoke or left any voicemail. If this was really BT, I’d expect someone to actually talk or at least leave a message, maybe even email me. It’s been happening on and off for a year or two now. Blocking isn’t an option since they switch numbers all the time. Honestly, the authorities should crack down on these nuisance callers much harder.BTSubmit Your Own Report (159200461)
