Every time my phone rings, I pick it up, only to be met with silence as they cut the line. I'm beginning to question the wisdom of answering these calls in the first place; it's been yonks since I received a proper call - can’t recall the last genuine conversation I had on the blower in the last half-year!

I had a rather unpleasant experience with a chap from an accident helpline claiming he was reaching out regarding my number. When I mentioned that my telephone number is registered with the Telephone Preference Service, he had the audacity to say it had been passed on to them. I promptly told him that was absolute nonsense, and he was clearly flouting the law. I instructed him to hang up immediately and make sure he never contacts me again!
