Got a call saying my BT internet’s about to be disconnected and to press 2 to sort it out. Turns out it’s a PREMIUM number, which means you'd get charged a hefty fee if you actually press it, basically giving them permission to bill you for a premium rate call. Best advice? Just hang up and block the number if possible. They'll probably ring back next week or next month trying the same trick again!

Got a call telling me my BT internet was about to be disconnected and to press 2 to sort it out. Turns out that's a premium rate number which will run up a big bill if you press it since you’re basically agreeing to pay for a premium call. Best bet is to hang up and block the number if you can. Just be prepared, they’ll probably ring back with the same trick sometime next week or next month!
