Some bloke rang me, claiming he was from BT Openreach and said my broadband was running slowly. He asked if he could get into my computer to sort it out and mentioned they'd post me a new router by the next morning. Naturally, I just ended the call straight away.

Watch out, mate. Those calls are definitely scams. They're ringing from places like Calcutta or other cities in India, but they show up as US numbers on your caller ID. Total hackers trying to trick you.

Got a call from some scammers in India, totally dodgy!

In just an hour and 15 minutes, I got 5 calls back and forth from 001912663775 and 001132933842.
