Totally a scam, you can spot it straight away because legit BT lines always begin with 0800, not with something like 0011. There's this bloke, supposedly from BT, who speaks English so badly it’s hard to understand him and he’s been ringing us for ages now. He claims he can improve our internet speed just by checking our router. Honestly, I find it entertaining to mess with him everytime he calls.

Got two calls earlier today from someone pretending to be with BT Openreach. Suspicious for sure, so I've blocked the number now.

I have also had a rather dubious call from this number, with someone pretending to be an engineer from Openreach, urging me to carry out some checks on my computer for my internet connection. Given that both Openreach and my internet provider had dispatched engineers recently to sort out the issues with my line-confirming that my router was at fault-I was immediately on my guard. This chap claimed he could "rectify" my connection, and I certainly didn’t take kindly to his antics! I let him know exactly what I thought and mentioned that I’d be filing a report against him.

DO NOT ENGAGE WITH THESE CHARLATANS!

It’s clear this number has gained notoriety as a scam. Yet, authorities seem entirely apathetic to the issue. Why is that, I wonder? It appears many at the helm of phone companies profit handsomely from these dodgy dealings, seemingly indifferent to the consequences for unsuspecting victims. The big wigs in banks and law enforcement agencies might well be pocketing a few extra quid from these nefarious activities. It's all rather disheartening; the monetary incentive takes precedence over public welfare. Anyone can acquire a phone number with little scrutiny, and despite the requirements of an address and bank account to set it all up, the powers that be choose to look the other way. In the end, it’s a sordid game where profit reigns supreme, and human suffering is merely collateral damage.

Received a call from someone claiming to be from BT, stating that they would address my sluggish internet connection. I, rather naively, permitted them to access my computer through the TeamViewer application and ended up on the line for three hours. They assured me they would refund me £204 and send a replacement router, but then attempted to pressure me into registering for online banking with my bank, which I firmly declined. To top it all off, they uninstalled my Norton security software, which I then had to reinstall myself. Fortunately, my bank account and internet service provider seem to have remained unscathed so far.

Someone rang saying they were from BT Openreach about my internet and router but it was clearly a scam. Seemed really dodgy to me.

They rang me twice earlier today with the typical scam nonsense. I kept them chatting for a bit before telling them exactly what I thought.

Got a call from the same number again today, said they were with BT Openreach like last time. Didn't let them finish their spiel and just told them to shove off - nicely, though!

Got a call from that number again. They wouldn’t say what it was about. Told them I don’t share info with random calls.

I had a bit of a laugh with these calls, feels almost like a silly game! Got two calls earlier today from people saying they were from OpenReach. Honestly, it’s a shame that the main telco can’t just block these numbers outright.

This number kept ringing me several times. The person on the other end was really hard to understand, but I caught that they claimed to be from BT Openreach. Pretty clear to me it was some kind of scam.

Got a call from someone claiming to be BT Openreach. They tried the classic trick, saying there were errors in my event log and wanted to get into my computer. I called them out as scammers straight away, and then they just swore at me and told me to get lost.

Got a call from some centre saying they wanna boost my internet speed. They told me to load some site and get this thing, Team Viewer. When I wasn't following their steps, they actually got mad at me for not cooperating. Pretty funny if you ask me!

Got a call from someone claiming to be from BT, saying they could boost my internet speed if I let them access my computer. They didn't have any details about my account or even my name. As soon as I asked them to prove who they were, they just ended the call. Definitely sounded like a scam to me.
