Just got a call from a number like this a few hours back. There was nothing but silence on the other end, so I ended the call. Feels good I decided to hang up.

Got a call on my work number but they just cut off straight away. Cheers to all who shared what these calls were about.

Whenever they ring me, I just mess about to give them a bit of their own medicine since they bother me so much. My main concern is when they go after people who are more vulnerable. I don’t get why this still happens when we’ve signed up with the TPS. How on earth do these dodgy folks get hold of our phone numbers?

They claimed to be from the Windows 10 support team and warned me I'd be banned from using any Microsoft products from my home. When I told them it was a scam, they acted like I’d insulted them and said they wouldn’t ask for any cash. I just ended the call. They rang back three more times. Honestly, it’s pretty upsetting and not nice at all.

Just like many others, I got a call from some sketchy bloke with a strange accent. I kept telling him I don’t own a computer, but he kept pushing, saying I had a Windows PC. Honestly, these kinds of scare tactics should be stopped with some proper legal action against these sneaky pests.

Hung up right after answering. Cheers to everyone warning that these are scammers using a new number I haven't seen before. Honestly, it seems the world’s full of people with no morals just looking to make a fast quid by any means, so they keep ringing and sadly someone always falls for their tricks. Still, these calls must be costing them something, and until phone firms do something about blocking these numbers, we’re stuck dealing with the constant nuisance.

I got a call from 000527448840 today at 2.32pm. It was a guy with an Indian accent telling me there was a problem with my computer. He claimed I'd missed loads of emails about it and asked why I never replied. I told him I hadn’t been on my PC, so I wouldn't have seen any emails. Then he said some person in America was trying to hack into my machine and he was going to shut it down immediately. I just told him again I wasn’t on the computer and hung up.

They rang me three times in like five minutes, proper annoying! They were going on about me using my hotmail through their server or something daft. I just told them to jog on. Can't stand these pestering idiots constantly calling.

I got a call from this number on 3rd June 2016. The guy claimed to be Michael, saying there was something wrong with my Microsoft PC. I told him straight up I don’t even own a Microsoft computer and that he was just a scammer, then told him to buzz off. This number had called me a couple of months before as well. Honestly, don’t say anything to them - they probably already have some info about you, so don’t give away anything else.

I don't understand why these calls never seem to stop. I work from home and get bombarded with scammers trying to con me all day long. I barely even pick up the phone now, but the nonstop ringing is driving me crazy!

They've rung me a couple times now, first time they said there was an issue with my PC, needless to say I told them exactly what I thought. The next time I picked up, they just dropped the call right away. I can handle it, but I worry older folks might fall for this. You would think authorities could track these lot down.

These people just don't know when to stop! I picked up one of their calls (unfortunately) and they were going on about how I hadn’t updated my computer, so my phone service would be disconnected in 25 mins for a 15-day period! Then they called again, using this same number, saying the service would be cut off right away for 25 days! At one point, the guy got really rude and called me something quite offensive, so I told him to never ring me again and hung up. Since then, I’ve had about five more calls but I just let them ring out. After reading the comments here, I’m a bit worried they might start ringing me in the middle of the night! Just great, isn’t it!?

This morning, I got a phone call from a guy who said his name was Brian, but honestly, his thick Asian accent made me suspicious straight away. He claimed he was a computer engineer and was calling about some issues with my PC. I quickly told him he wasn’t Brian, he wasn’t no engineer, and that my computer was perfectly fine. He then tried to sweet-talk me, calling me “darling” and guessing that I was Russian based on my accent - which he obviously got wrong too. I made it clear I wasn’t his darling and called him out for trying to scam me. Even as I hung up, he kept babbling away on the line. Proper dodgy call!

These scammers have been running this trick for ages now. Honestly, there needs to be a proper warning on TV, posters on buses, billboards, and info leaflets in places like libraries so people don’t fall for it. This will keep happening until con artists start losing their money.

I got a call from this number, and the person on the other end was an Asian lady who said her name was "Christine". She claimed there was an issue with my computer. I asked her which computer I meant, and after a brief silence, she replied "all of them." I then requested the company’s name, and she said "Online support." When I asked for a contact phone number, all I got was a bit of mumbling. I kept asking but then the call was suddenly ended. Using 1471, I managed to find this number. Funny enough, the same company "Online Support" phoned me earlier today, but they called from a hidden number that time.

Got a call earlier today, something about my computer supposedly. I played along, kept him waiting while I pretended to follow his instructions. When he asked what I saw on the screen, I told him there was a message saying he was a total scammer. He then asked if I was reading off some kind of dummy board, which made me laugh. I replied, "No, but I reckon you might be, and just so you know, this call is being traced by the coppers." He quickly hung up, calling me crazy. I like to keep these scam callers on the line because while they're chatting with me, they're not trying to con someone else-and they’re the ones footing the bill anyway.

Got a call from a woman with an Indian accent who said her name was Elaine Johnson! She was claiming there were serious problems with my computer. I went "Oh no, wait a sec," and put the phone down. I could hear her asking if I was there a few minutes later, then she just hung up after around three minutes. She phoned back about half an hour later, so this time I left her hearing the TV news before ending the call. Then I used 1471 to check where the number was from.

Back in September, I got in touch with these lot after speaking to someone from EE’s tech team. He said he couldn’t sort my issue and would pass my details onto Microsoft, saying someone would be in touch. I ended up paying £100 but my laptop still wouldn’t work. Since it was an EE guy who said he would transfer it to Microsoft, I didn’t really question it. Just a heads up - be careful with folks claiming to be from EE.

They said there was an issue with my computers, so I asked, "which one?" and they replied "all of them". So I played along and gave them access to an old laptop I had. They ended up putting malware and keyloggers on it. Then they wanted me to put in my bank info to 'fix' the problem. Obviously, I didn’t do that and just wasted about 40 minutes of their time instead.

Got a call earlier today from some bloke saying he had to discuss my computer. Told him I wasn’t interested and that his call broke the rules. He got really annoyed and reckoned it wasn’t illegal as he claimed to be from Windows. He was still yelling when I hung up on him. A few seconds later, my phone rang again but the number showed 'UNAVAILABLE'. I didn’t pick up and there was no voicemail.

Got a call around 12.15 today. I told them I wasn’t interested and put the phone down. Then they rang back five minutes later. I said I didn’t want any more calls from them. Despite that, they phoned three more times. Eventually, we picked up and asked who they were and what company they represented. The bloke said his name was Peter Jones but refused to share his number, then got really rude and started being abusive. Definitely looks like a scam to me.

Got a call today around 12.15 and told them I wasn’t interested before hanging up. Then, they rang back just five minutes later. I asked them to stop calling me. However, they called another three times after that. Finally, I picked up and asked for their name and company. The bloke said his name was Peter Jones but wouldn’t share any phone number. He ended up being quite rude and hostile. Definitely seems like a scam to me.

They rang me around 12.15 today. I told them I'm not interested and put the phone down. Then a few minutes later they phoned again. I told them not to bother calling anymore. But they rang another three times after that. Eventually I picked up and asked who they were and what company they represented. The guy said his name was Peter Jones but wouldn’t share a number, and then he started getting rude and aggressive. Definitely sounds like some sort of scam.

They rang at 8.15 in the morning but didn’t say anything when I answered. Luckily, after reading the earlier comments, I now know how to handle it if they call back. Honestly, these lot should be punished proper and left out in the cold.

11/01/16 11:35am Got a call from this number but didn’t pick up because I didn’t recognise it. They didn’t leave any voicemail either. My number’s ex-directory, so I’m not sure how they even got hold of it.

Got a call from a lady with an Indian accent saying she was from SKY tech support. She told me she had to get into my PC to do some urgent updates, and if I refused, my SKY account might get blocked or something. After I hung up, she kept ringing me again and again. I'll block the number once I’m back home. Seriously, watch out for these scammers!!!

Got a call from some Microsoft scammers, can't believe these lot are still at it. Now they're saying they can wipe out all your debts for £50 a month and even post you paperwork asking for your bank info. Watch out for dodgy comparison sites too, that’s probably how they nab your details.

Got a call from a lady who said she was from Pakistan or somewhere similar, worrying about my computer - just said it was a Windows one, nothing specific. She sounded pretty insistent, kept telling me she'd call back when it suited me better and all that.

Not sure who rang us. We never pick up calls from unknown or blocked numbers. There was no voicemail left either. Got the call at 13:37 on 8/1/16. Wonder if the "Authorities" are able to track down these numbers? Cheers to those who shared their thoughts before me.

I keep getting calls from this number and it’s always some foreign voice asking for my name. When I ask who's calling, they just hang up on me. These calls are super irritating and honestly, they really need to be banned.

Between 8.57 this morning and just after 11, I got 23 calls. Seems they only wanna chat when a woman picks up, won't speak to the blokes.

The voice definitely had an Asian tone and they told me there’s an issue with my computer.

I always keep my old 'Thunderer' footy ref whistle right next to the phone. When some telemarketer starts their spiel, I jump in asking them to speak louder, then pretend I can’t catch most of what they say and ask them to repeat. By then, I’m hoping they’ve got the headset clamped tight to their ear, and that’s when I blow the whistle full blast. Usually the line just cuts off straightaway. Nothing beats the joy of thinking you might’ve given them a bit of a scare!

Got a call early Saturday morning from some spoofed number, something like 00052 744840 showing up on my caller ID. They were trying the old "your computer has a problem" scam.

Got another one of those dodgy scam calls today. The bloke claimed there was a huge mess with my Windows PC and loads of errors showing up on his screen. He wanted to know exactly what I was seeing. Luckily, my lad was around, and he’s a network whizz, so he told me to say I’m running LINUX. That throwed the guy off big time! He then admitted they don’t handle LINUX systems. I asked him how he was seeing any errors at all then??? Ended the call there. Quite a laugh, to be honest!

Some bloke rang me pretending to be from Microsoft, all jibber jabber about getting into my computer. Honestly, best thing is just to ignore them or pick up and put the phone down sharpish. It costs them money to call, so don’t waste your time chatting! What a bunch of muppets!

Some woman threatened to disconnect our computer unless I followed her instructions. She got pretty annoyed when I told her I’d jot everything down. She wouldn’t say the name of the company and said she was calling from London. Very suspicious!

On Friday the 23rd of October, I got calls from this number around 9:30 to 9:50, about 5 or 6 in total. The bloke claims to be Richard Berrect from BT and says there’s something wrong with my computer. He says he’s emailed me, but I never got anything. Super pushy bloke, even after I warned I’d ring the police if he called again, he still carried on calling and wouldn’t accept no for an answer!

Got a call from an Indian bloke claiming to be with BT. He threw out some fake hacker name saying they were trying to get into my bank account via email. I played along just for a laugh but didn’t fall for any of it. He said he’ll ring again tomorrow once I supposedly have my laptop back so he can "help". These calls are proper scams and such a pain, but using racist words is just not on.

Some bloke called himself Richard, said my PC was blastin’ out bad signals and I needed to be by it straight away to fix it. Told him to jog on. Then he’s gone and rung me six times in quick succession before just hanging up. I just let it ring off and go to voicemail. Proper muppets.
