I just moved into a new place and got my phone line set up on the 8th of August. Right after that, this number called me, but I missed it because I was tied up. I checked 1471 and thought the number seemed a bit odd. They kept calling a few more times, and today I finally picked up. Something felt off because the woman on the other end had a really thick accent and didn’t speak English very well. After listening for a little bit, I said I wasn’t interested and hung up straight away.

They claimed to be from BT and said that someone was using my internet for some dodgy business. I said I've already informed BT's fraud team and the police about them, and they hung up right away.

Got two calls from someone who hung up right away, then this guy with an Indian accent came on saying our internet was being used elsewhere. He sounded worried and asked what we should do next. He mentioned he'd send us an email, but I wouldn’t hold your breath on that. Just brace yourself for loads more annoying calls!

I found a pretty smart way to deal with these overseas scam calls. I always ask if they believe in God, and every single time they say yes. Then I tell them, "Well, your God is watching you right now. I bet your mum would be really disappointed." They usually get pretty mad, but it’s in their own language so I don’t mind!

These fraudsters ring up trying to make you install some software so they can hack into your PC. Never fall for it, because once they get access, they'll swipe your bank info and drain your account. When I can spare a moment, I like to mess about and string them along, just to eat up their time. I act like I’m following their instructions but keep coming up with silly hiccups, like "Oops, I accidentally turned it off by mistake. Just gotta wait for it to reboot now." At least while I’m keeping them busy, they’re not scamming other people.

I had a call from some bloke named "Charles" saying he was from BT. I don't get why these muppets think picking a posh English name makes them sound legit. Told him where to shove it and the idiot had the nerve to ring back right away asking what I said. So I gave him an earful and then hung up on him. It's getting out of hand, this. Got a call from a guy with an Asian accent claiming to be from BT, saying there was an issue with my BT router. Thing is, I don’t even have a BT router! He kept going on about loads of folks trying to get into it, but I told him my house is tucked away, so anyone would have to walk right up my driveway just to get near the thing. This morning I got a phone call from this number. A woman with an Indian accent said she was calling on behalf of BT, saying there was an issue with my internet and that unauthorised users were connected to my service. She asked if I could switch on my PC or laptop so she could help me sort it out. I told her I don’t have a PC or laptop, I just use the broadband for streaming stuff on my TV. Then she asked if I was seeing any pop-up ads, and I said no. She then said if that’s the case, my internet should be fine after all.
