Today I got a call from a bloke named Roy. I was already in a bad mood since the ringing had woken up my husband, so I asked if I was supposed to know him or something. He told me it was about an energy survey happening around here, and when I replied with a bit of sarcasm like “thrilling,” he turned nasty. Started slagging off my surname and then just called me a “knobhead”. Thankfully, my phone has the option to block numbers, so hopefully I won’t get any more of his calls. What really worries me is that he obviously had my name, address, and number. I’m super careful about who I give out that info to, and I’m signed up to the Telephone Preference Service too, so I’m guessing either they just ignored it or didn’t count this as a marketing call.
