my mum got a call from a number starting with 001234567. luckily I grabbed the phone and talked to the person myself. he said his contact was 0116 4362002, trying to convince us he was legit. he was trying to sell her some supplements, saying they’d do her good. what’s even worse, she’d already been tricked by someone calling from that same fake 001234567 number only a couple of weeks earlier. watch out for these scammers, they’re taking advantage of elderly folks.

Clearly, this number seems rather dubious. I let it ring without picking up because it's not one I'm familiar with, and I certainly don't fancy the idea of falling prey to some hacker or scam artist. It's worrying how simply answering a call can open the door for them to start fishing for personal information and prying into your life. Better to be safe than sorry, I reckon!

Received a call today, August 18, 2010, and upon answering, I was met with an inquiry about something that apparently involved FedEx. The gentleman spoke briefly and then just left me hanging, leading us to hang up as we weren't expecting any parcels from them at all. This left us pondering whether it was some sort of scam or a mere blunder. Next time, we plan to inform them that we are quite delighted to have received their call, as we are on the verge of lodging a formal complaint with the Federal Interstate Commission regarding our grievances with FedEx. Alright, here's another round of thoughts on the matter: "Numbers for Skype often resemble the format 000-123-4567." "It appears that those pesky telemarketers have discovered a method to erase the caller ID information when they make calls. Instead of opting for the usual line id restrictions that would ordinarily anonymise their number, they’ve found a way to ring people while completely omitting the caller ID field. This trick seems aimed at getting through to folks who have previously activated Anonymous Call Rejection."

I received a call in the early hours, around 3 AM, from someone claiming to be aware of our daughter's name. They mentioned that her brother had sadly passed away in the hospital. I was just on my way to the hospital at the time! What a dreadful situation!

I came across a similar post elsewhere that stated, "it's merely a case of a 'spoofed' caller ID, perhaps even posing as someone familiar. You can easily achieve this as well. I've had a couple of missed calls on my partner's mobile recently. The voicemail clearly mentioned a name, but the person who called left a rather puzzling message in an Indian accent. She introduced herself and said she was phoning from Iraq. What struck me as odd was that she mentioned a woman's name, which happens to be from my partner's family. If this call was genuine, I suppose using Skype would be a plausible option. The number that popped up on the caller ID was something like 000 123 4567. Quite bizarre, isn't it?

We often rely on Skype for our international calls, and that particular number popped up on our caller ID when we dialled the landline. Makaveli, when you received that call, it was likely from someone in your locality. If I were in your shoes, I'd reach out to your local police station as soon as possible.

We were quite taken aback and inquired how she obtained our number. We suggested that she contact the estate agent instead of disturbing our mobile. So, my partner received a call from someone with a really heavy accent that sounded foreign. They were trying to get across what seemed to be something about a credit card, but honestly, it was a right struggle to understand them. We asked if they could speak in English, and then out of the blue, the caller went off on a bizarre rant about wanting to, shall we say, "get involved" with my wife! We couldn’t help but chuckle at the sheer absurdity of it all, responded with our own cheeky retort, and then they abruptly hung up. What a peculiar exchange!

Received a call on our mobile with a region code of "000." I chose to send it straight to voicemail, and surprise, there was no message left. It feels like either a prank, possibly kids using Skype, or perhaps a dodgy scammer with a totally bogus Caller ID. Maybe it’s just a wonky auto-dialer! However, I've noticed that genuine callers usually don’t mess about with their Caller ID or phone numbers. If someone’s got something important to communicate, they’d leave a message or, good grief, even drop me a text! :)

We've received calls from this number, and we've lodged a complaint with the police, complete with a case number. We're aware of who this individual is-a rather troubled young lad employed at the hospital, who falsely claims to be a doctor. Honestly, it’s best to steer clear of this.
