I got a call from a private number, and it looked like the latest BT scam going around. Some bloke with a posh English accent told me my BT internet and phone were hacked or something, and that they were about to be cut off. He said if I wanted to stop it, I needed to press 1 to chat with a manager. Honestly, I’m not daft - I spoke to the real BT just yesterday! What is wrong with these idiots, don’t they have anything better to do?

Got a call saying 'press 1 to hear your message' from 00000000000 - felt a bit iffy about it so didn’t press anything to listen.

That number seemed odd so I just ignored the call.

Got a call about my computer windows, I told them I’ve no computer and then just ended the call. Funny thing is, they already knew my last name!

On the 1st of May 2019, an individual called me claiming to be from HMRC, stating that I owed income tax. They demanded my full name and date of birth. I refused to provide this information, and they threatened to send the police to arrest me within half an hour. According to them, I would then be held in custody for 72 hours while they verified if I was the right person. Naturally, I declined their request and told them I would welcome the arrival of the police. I recognized this as a scam because if it were legitimate, the Inland Revenue would have contacted me via letter.

Got a call from this number, an automated voice claiming to be from the tax office.

After I ended the call I rang 1471 and this number popped up- 000000000000. The bloke claimed he was with Microsoft and said there’d been issues with my Windows. Told him to get lost and just ended the call.

All I got from them was a cheeky "deez nuts."

Some weird bloke called. I just said "Hello?" and didn’t bother with anything else, sick of dealing with this rubbish. Was shocked when I checked the number using 1471!

Got a call from some foreign call centre with an all zero number at 10:07. Just blocked the number straight away.

This number's been calling me loads but I always ignore it. Total time waster. How do they even get hold of our phone digits? It's just ridiculous!

I received a call, but the person on the other side ended the call abruptly. When I tried to call back, a message said that the number was not recognized.

Got a call from them at nearly 3 in the morning, I was fast asleep and rashly picked up but then the call just dropped. Has anyone else noticed any odd charges on their phone bill after answering this number?

Without hesitation, I picked up the phone when it started ringing. It was almost midnight, and given that my mother is in the final stages of a terminal illness, I didn't give it a second thought. To my surprise, no one responded on the other end before the call abruptly disconnected. Troubled by this encounter, I decided to switch off my phone and remove the battery for a few minutes, just as a precaution. The whole incident felt incredibly strange!

I recently received a pre-recorded message from a man offering oven cleaning services. It wasn't the first time I've received such a call, but the number seemed suspicious. In the message, he encouraged me to press certain numbers - one to schedule an oven cleaning appointment, and another to unsubscribe from further calls. Interestingly, when I called back the number displayed on my caller ID (which appeared genuine in the past), I heard the same pre-recorded message again. I also tried pressing the "unsubscribe" number more recently, but it clearly didn't result in any cessation of calls. These calls often occur outside of regular office hours, like evenings, weekends or even during lunchtime.

Didnt pick up, the number seemed a bit fishy. Gonna block it after seeing what others said here.

I am familiar with these individuals as they reside in Mexico and claim to be unaware of why it arises.

I got a call from a number that was all zeros which seemed really dodgy, so I didn’t pick up. Now I’ve blocked that one and a few others like it. Feels like one of those scams that trick you into pressing buttons and then try to charge you or keep you on the line without you realising. Best thing to do is just ignore and block. Don’t risk it!

Today, I received two phone calls from this particular number. As a precautionary measure, I have blocked it. Can anyone provide any information regarding the nature of these calls? I received a strange phone number. I blocked it on my iPhone, but the caller rang again after 5 minutes. So, I decided to switch off the sound.

Got two calls from this number, ignored and blocked it the first time. Then it rang again but with one zero less. Picked up, but no one said anything!

Got a random call from a woman with a British accent, automated message about some 'National windows recycling initiative' (not the tech one, the ones you see outside your house) saying I qualified for it and even a refund! Yay, right? They said press 5 for details or 9 to opt out. Nah, I just hit the big red button on my call blocker. Honestly, I'd recommend you do that too.

I have recently come across a number on my computer and became curious about its significance. I decided to conduct research to understand more about this number. Unfortunately, my attempts to delete it have been unsuccessful.

The phone has been ringing multiple times since Monday. Either no one was available to answer, or they intentionally refused to do so - clearly indicative of a scam.

I absolutely refuse to respond to a number like this! It seems suspicious and definitely appears to be a scam!

They claimed to represent BT and mentioned that my internet connection was being affected. Instinctively, I decided to turn off my phone as I found their statement suspicious.

We received a call from a number consisting entirely of zeros. When I returned the call, Verizon informed me that it's someone contacting us while concealing their number using the *67 feature.

We had a peculiar experience with our landline when someone called - not long after, our mobile buzzed too, and then our partner's phone started ringing. As soon as he answered, a young lady on the other end inquired about us. When he mentioned that we weren't at home, she pressed on, wanting to know when we'd return. My wife, quite curious, kept asking who was calling repeatedly, but before we could get any answers, the girl abruptly ended the call. Rather odd, wouldn’t you say?

We've received two calls from this number. The first time, we were out, so our BT1571 answered, but no message was left. The second time, we were home and answered, yet there was absolutely nobody on the line, and then the call just cut off. Very peculiar!
