I noticed on my Samsung phone, there's this company listed as Dyeing for It. When I tried calling back, the Samsung operator replied with 'Please try again, number not recognised'. Looks like Samsung's blocked it from their system now, so if you're using a Samsung, you probably won't get calls from them anymore.

Lately ive been getting calls claiming to be from Virginmedia about my router speed and signal issues. The weird thing is the number shows up as a blocked or hidden number. I figured a big company like Virginmedia wouldnt be using untraceable numbers like that.

Answered with a long “ooooooo” then it cut out the number, some bloke from Asia with the worst phone connection, barely made out what she was blabbing about. All I managed to catch was something like “mobile 11” series, loads of static and strange crackles. Hung up right away. Really strange call.

1. Save the number (000)-000-0000 in your phone.
2. Give it a silly or annoying name like ZERO so you remember it's a dodgy caller - they often have a foreign accent.
3. Block the contact straight away and end the call as soon as they ring.
4. Try to find out the actual number behind the calls - sometimes you can catch more than one person talking if you listen closely.
5. Keep ringing back that number as often as possible (I haven’t got round to this step myself yet...).

Got a call from this number with a +00 code, which means it’s from abroad. It rang a couple of times then dropped - shame, my call blocker would’ve stopped them. I’ve blocked it now, you should too. Definitely don’t pick up calls starting with +00 since they’re outside the UK.

So, I got a call from 000000000 and some bloke with a heavy accent was telling me I was eligible for a £9200 government grant. Funny thing is, about two months back, another different number called me with almost the same story. I quickly figured out it was all rubbish. Apparently, they want you to pay £250 upfront just to claim the grant. Yeah right... no way I’m falling for that. Total scam, for sure!

A few weeks ago, this number rang my mobile, and when I picked up, a foreign man claimed he was calling from some US government office (I can’t quite remember which). As soon as I started questioning him - he even knew my name - he suddenly turned aggressive and swore at me before hanging up. Today, the same number rang but my husband answered this time. Knowing what happened before, he told them to leave us alone. Then, a woman got on the line and started shouting insults, threatening to “mess him up” and other awful stuff. My husband fired back just as nastily, and they were going at it for like 40 seconds until I had to end the call because it was stressing me out. Can’t believe how nasty these people get if things don’t go their way. This is actually the third time they've called; the second call was a few days ago but I didn’t pick up since my husband wasn’t home and I didn’t want to deal with it alone.
