This person said they were from Amazon, saying my Amazon Prime subscription had ended. I don’t even have Amazon Prime. They wanted me to press 1 to sort it out, but I could tell it was a scam so I just ended the call.

Got a call from 'Amazon' on a 0000 number saying there was suspicious activity on my account. They asked me to log in right away. Seemed fishy cause they called me on a number and location I'm not usually at. When I told them I'd ring back later, they just hung up.

Not sure what was going on but someone called saying they’d taken my lad in Newcastle. I kept trying to ring him and the mate he was with but both phones just kept busy. So I headed over to their place to check, but everything was fine there. After I got home, found my house had been broken into, nothing missing though. Then I started getting weird emails and they somehow took control of my smart TVs. It was driving me mad. No one believed me when I said they downloaded apps on my TV and laptop, even tracked my phone and sat nav. This all happened around November to Christmas 2018.

This lady called me from this number, but also from like 3 or 4 other numbers. She was really rude and kept harassing me. When I told her I’d contact the police over her behaviour, she just laughed wickedly and said she didn’t care at all. People like her honestly should be behind bars.

Got calls from “0” two mornings straight, didn’t pick up either time. Both left a voicemail saying I need to pay £29 to keep my amazon account active and to press 1 to talk to customer service. This number's called me a couple of times already. First time, they claimed it was about the call preference service, but when I said I’d already got it on my phone, they just hung up. Then today, they rang saying they were from Domestic & General saying my washing machine insurance had expired. When I told them it’s still with Domestic & General, the woman just went quiet and then ended the call. Really wondering how they’re getting past my call preference and reaching me straight away.

This number has phoned me a couple times now. The first call was about some call preference service and when I told them I already had it on my phone, they just cut off. Today, they rang again claiming to be from Domestic and General, saying my washing machine insurance had expired. Like others have said, this one’s new to me. The caller showed as '0' on my phone and didn’t leave any message since we didn’t answer. Had a look here and saw quite a few others got the same call.

Just to make it clear, the number that showed up on my screen was simply '0'. There was no sound at all from the other side. I stayed quiet since the caller wasn’t making any noise either. After a bit, the call just ended.

A bloke with a heavy Indian accent claimed he was ringing from BT regarding my internet. I just laughed, told him to jog on, that I’m not daft, and ended the call. The number came up as 0000 on my screen.

The number +00 0000 from the UK keeps ringing me, like 2 or 3 times every day this past week, but nobody picks up when I answer. It's also happening on my landline, and I reckon it’s a scam about BT saying your broadband is about to be cancelled. The callers sound Asian and somehow they already know your name.

This one’s a bit different for me. The entire number popped up for a second but switched to showing ‘International’ before I could catch it properly (that’s why I just wrote 0000). A woman with a foreign accent trying to speak English called, said she was from Amazon’s “security team”. Figured it was one of those usual Microsoft or BT scam calls I get a lot, so I just hung up. Maybe I should’ve stayed on to hear her out.

0000 - The caller said her name was Angela, but honestly, she didn’t sound anything like any Angela I’ve ever come across. She asked for me by name and rattled on about some investigation involving 600 Vodafone plc shares - sounded like she was reading from a script. I let her carry on for a bit, then told her that the person she wanted was away abroad for four months. She stopped, seemed a bit thrown by that, and then strangely started laughing. She abruptly ended the call, leaving me puzzled by her odd reaction. Well, at least she sounded pleased when it finished!

I've come across quite a few folks warning against picking up the phone when you see that 0000 number flashing on your screen. Apparently, there have been a couple of unfortunate incidents in Thailand and one in the States where people lost their lives. So really, it’s best to avoid answering if you see that caller ID pop up.
