Welcome to our gallery.

Creativity is a valuable way of expressing your emotions and it can aid recovery. It can also help others understand the issues surrounding mental health.

This artwork has been produced with the kind permission of Reflections. Reflections is the publication supporting the promotion of 'Art Works in Health', a new project that aims to encourage creativity in people who have been affected by mental illness and to promote understanding. The project will lead to a number of art exhibitions throughout the country, which will include examples of painting, drawing, photography, writing, sculpture, pottery and ceramics.

'Art Works in Health' is sponsored by Pfizer Ltd and collaborating organisations involved are Breathrough, Coventry Health Care NHS Trust, Depression Alliance, National Schizophrenia Fellowship, the Northern Centre for Mental Health, South London and Maudesley NHS Trust, PriMHE (Primary care mental health education) and Priory Health Care Wearside.

We thank all the people who have given their permission for their work to be included and Angie Russell, part of the Art Works in Health working group, who helped us in this task.

We will change artwork used on the site over time and by September, will also record artists speaking about their work and reading poetry.
