Networks and Groups > Children's and Young People's Group
NIMHE is committed to become an organisation
that works with mental health service
provision for all age groups. Led by
Miranda Wolpert (CAMHS fellow in NIMHE)
this group seeks to bring together all
those in NIMHE with a particular interest
in service provision for children and
young people. The group will include
Regional CAMHS fellows, those working
in Regional Development Centres with
particular responsibility for CAMHS
and those working on National programmes
with a particular interest or experience
in this area.
One of the roles of this group is to
collate examples of the activity of different
parts of NIMHE in relation to children
and young people.
One example of this is the Tier 4 CAMHS
Strategy recently published by West
Midlands Regional Development Centre:

Update
Understanding what we mean by CAMHS
The acronym CAMHS (Child and Adolescent
Mental Health Services) is common, but
do we all mean the same thing when we
use it? And who do we identify as part
of it? With many millions of pounds
earmarked for CAMHS services, and the
repeated aspiration for genuinely joined
up working, it's important to agree
who and what “CAMHS” is.
Miranda Wolpert and Peter Wilson tackle
this question in an article published
in the July issue of YoungMinds Magazine.
