Be really careful about talking to any scammer on the phone - especially never say “yes” or speak for longer than a couple seconds. These days a lot of scam calls come from AI voices. If you look up “voice cloning scams” or “saying yes scams” online, you’ll see lots of warnings and police advice about this new and nasty AI trick scammers use. It’s a good idea to get rid of any voicemail that has your own recorded voice on it, never ring back any unknown numbers, and tell your mates and family to do the same. Loads of people have already fallen prey to this tech without realising how serious it is - it can cause them and their friends trouble for years. The best way to avoid getting caught out is if everyone keeps their guard up. If you get a dodgy call like this, make sure to report it to the police and Ofcom so they can track what’s going on and try to shut it down. You can find how to report in another post here.

I keep gettin silent rings from this number too! Apparently it's from Beale, North Yorkshire. Loads of calls from numbers that look just like it. Such a pain, these annoying nuisance calls!!!

I got two calls from this number, but then it just went quiet. Can't really tell if it’s some sort of scam or not.

I use call screening on my iPhone, so I never get to hear the ring, just the missed calls log. For the past couple of weeks, I’ve been getting calls every day from numbers beginning with 07359. Honestly, when are they gonna stop?!

I answered the phone whilst at work but no one said anything, then after a bit of silence, the call just got ended.

Lately, I've been getting a flood of calls that supposedly come from Bolton and Manchester, but I'm pretty sure that's not really where they’re from. These calls seem connected to a bunch of numbers like: 01204 920714 01218 391048 01218 390927 01615 684030 01204 920718 01218 390959 01615 681355 01218 390969 When I try to ring any of these back, it's just the same automated message playing over and over about high call volumes. It's annoying as hell. Honestly, the best thing to do is just block them and forget about it. Still, I’m really curious how they manage to get hold of so many numbers all of a sudden and pester so many people nonstop...

Absolute scam! Never ever answer calls, texts, or emails from numbers or addresses you don’t know. Don’t even engage with scammers - there’s been loads about 'voice cloning scams' if you want to look it up. Always report suspicious calls to the police or Ofcom using their official channels. You can text the phone number and any details (even if it’s a silent call) to 7726. Make sure you respond if they ask for confirmation. Also, make use of your phone’s spam report feature. For suspicious texts, forward them to 7726 and use the text spam reporting too. Keep an eye out for any replies as you might need to confirm again. Scam emails should be forwarded to '[email protected]' and reported through the phishing report option (usually found under the 3-dot menu). The more reports these scams get from all platforms, the better the chance the right authorities will take them seriously and act fast. Just google 7726 and '[email protected]' if you want to know more. Stay safe!

I replied but no one picked up, then the call just dropped. Sounds like it could be a scam to me.

My landline rang, but I missed answering it. Seemed like it was something positive though! Honestly, I believe every scammer deserves the harshest punishment!!!

I usually have my phone set to block numbers I don’t recognise, but this one somehow got through and left a voicemail asking me to add them on WhatsApp. Definitely felt like a spam call to me!

Got a call from someone claiming to be BT, but it was totally spam.

Got a call from someone saying they were with the Three network. I told them to ring me back from three different numbers linked to my account, then they just ended the call. Definitely a scam, steer clear of this number.

Keeps calling all sorts of different numbers nonstop.

Got a call from someone saying they were with Three, trying to sell me a massive discount for being a loyal customer. Told them that if they were legit, they’d know I stopped being with Three ages ago. They didn’t say another word and just ended the call.

Kept getting calls about a supposed PCP claim that doesn’t even exist. Went straight to blocked.
